Chapter 10 - Planting Bread Tree

Max then took out the fertilizer formula to observe the recipe and found it required ocean weeds which has been reduced to junk in the inventory.

Upon closer look Max found that 1kg of ocean weeds can make up to 10 grams of fertilizer.

The fertilizer only requires ocean weed, making it simple to produce. He just needs to sprinkle a few grams of it on the plant or seed and water it for the day, which helps the plant grow within a few days. By increasing the amount of fertilizer, he can reduce the time needed for the plant to grow and enjoy the fruits of his labor more quickly.

Max immediately learned the recipe of the fertilizer and soon fertilizer production icon appeared on the system production options.

Max selected the fertilizer option and dragged the weeds icons from the inventory and dropped into the fertilizer option, soon he was presented with 100kg of fertilizer.

Max didn't store many weeds since he didn't see much use for the plant, but he found the amount he had was enough for his needs. With only one plant to grow and limited space on his raft, he decided that the bread tree would be sufficient for now, leaving no room for vegetables or other plants.

He then opened the trade channel and began searching for the required mud and rocks to plant the bread tree.

As soon as he opened the store and started searching, he discovered many locals in the area selling the black mud needed for planting and the rocks he required at affordable prices.

Max soon bought ten rocks for 10 wood and 10 kilo grams of black mud for another 10 wooden planks.

He could have bought them at a lower price, but Max discovered that the seller was only offering one or two of the items in the trade channel, and even those in limited quantities. Many people discard the black mud and stones because they take up inventory space, or they lose hope of selling these items, as they initially seem like a waste of space when opened from treasure chests.

Yes, these items can only be obtained from the treasure chests, as they are too heavy to float😏.

Soon, he gathered the items needed to plant the bread tree. Maxx grabbed an extra wooden box, first dumping in some black mud mixed with rocks. Then, he emptied all the mud from his inventory into the wooden treasure chest.

He then took a bottle of water, wet the dried-up surface, dug a small gap in the mud, planted the bread tree seed, covered it with mud, and poured water again until the bottle was completely empty.

Next, he took the fertilizer, poured it into the empty bottle, mixed it with water, and carefully applied the mixture to the spot where the seed was planted.

Now all he has do is make sure the box is open space so the seed will get germinated soon and the plant is regularly watered with fertilizer mixed in.

After dusting his hands of all the mud and other substances attached during the planting work, Max took out the blueprint of the water purifier and allowed the system to learn them.

He checked to see if he had enough items to build it and discovered he only had enough materials for a single attempt, as it required the beast core to function as an electricity producer or battery.

The other items are such as glass, charcoal and plastic which are abundant with him.

Soon he gathered the necessary materials, dragged them into the production column, and pressed the produce button. This initiated the production phase, and within a minute, a brand-new water purifier appeared in his system inventory.

The good thing about the inventory is he can designate item which can freeze the time and not to freeze the time in it, as he found he has not enough space on the raft, so he just has to pour some ocean water into the purifier and put that back into the inventory and stop the time freezing option which will allow him to collect the water in regular interval.

The water purifier also allows him to collect some salt which is important resources to live on the ocean.

He has to just build some purifier to replace at regular times and leave it alone and only care about collecting water.

Max then took out the water purifier and found that it just a regular water purifier which run with beast core.

While observing the water purifier, Max got the idea to sell the produced water purifiers as many are in need of the water after the third day, without water it is fatal to the survival in the ocean.

Max could make more profit by selling water, but he prefers not to waste time sitting idle and selling water for resources. Instead, he uses his talent to search for treasure chests, gaining extra resources, especially since others are less willing to sell blueprints compared to finished products.

Instead, he could focus on crafting water purifiers, selling them at cost to build a good reputation, and then sell the purifier rods separately at a higher price to earn more resources.

Max finalized his plans and decided to announce him of selling the water purifier in the regional channel in the evening after he has completed his travelling time to search the resources and the treasure chests.

Once again, he started to row his raft in the direction he felt there is treasure chests and soon found some more resources required to upgrade the raft.

Max confirmed he had enough resources to upgrade his raft to level 8. He stopped rowing, let the raft drift with the waves, and clicked the upgrade button. This action emptied all the wood reserves in his inventory, leaving him only with food, fertilizer, and a water purifier. The rest of the items were now securely stored on the raft in the treasure chest.

Within a few minutes, his raft was upgraded, increasing its durability to 800. However, its buoyancy was reduced, limiting its ability to carry heavier loads.
