The woman dashed to the side of Thanatos and Arthur shoved him to the side. His obsidian blade colliding with the white rapier.
'How the hell is that dinky thing able to resist the weight…'
Arthur hit her rapier to the side and dashed to her side, attempting to slice across her side. The woman quickly maneuvered her body so the slash would just barely be off mark. And jabbed towards Arthur at a blinding speed. Her rapier was about to pierce his chest when a bolt of black lightning shot through her and send her tumbling through the snow.
"Thanks."
Thanatos nodded and turned into his wolf form. The two dashed at the woman. She lifted herself up and leaped over the two. She kicked the shadow wolf out of the way and dashed at Arthur. Arthur twisted his body and swept her ankle. She tripped over his foot and fell face first into the snow. The woman looked towards the mountain and yelled.
"Now!"
Arthur could sense a foreign object bolting towards him. And deflected an arrow out of the way.
'So there is more than one…'
A barrage of arrows fell towards Arthur. He grit his teeth and attempted to escape. Though he was pierced by a few. He didn't notice the small fire being kept up by the fire arrow he had deflected earlier.
"Thanatos! Get up!"
The shadow wolf grumbled before blitzing towards the woman. Arthur tried to sense the position of the archer. Augmenting his senses using aura.
'If only I had a ranged weapon…'
"Thanatos! Give me some mana! Now!"
Thanatos dove away from the woman and transformed into his human form. He pressed his hand onto Arthur's seal and momentarily bypassed it. Arthur felt the flood of mana slowly disappearing into the seal. And quickly summoned a bow of white lightning. Putting all of the mana he had left into a single shot. He released just as the bow crumbled in his hand. The lightning arrow crossed the distance between the archer and Arthur in a few moments.
A small explosion occurred on the mountain. And while the Archer was shaken. He went back to help Thanatos, who had become the shadow wolf again and was battling the woman. Arthur knocked the rapier out of her hand. And Thanatos took a bite out of her shoulder. The woman grunted and stuck her hand out. Arthur and Thanatos were both momentarily blinded. And Thanatos disappeared for a few moments.
Arthur laid in the snow. Part of his cloak had been burnt by a searing white flame, which didn't seem to want to stop. He tossed the cloak aside.
'She can use runes? Just who the hell is this woman?'
The woman had summoned a brilliant sleek sword of white flame. Her shoulder had already been healed. And she dashed forward. Slicing across Arthur's body. The flame crept inside Arthur's wounds. And he felt his vision dissipating. Just as he was about to lose consciousness fully, he spotted another feminine figure sliding down the icy slope of the mountain and looked at the woman.
"Aria! You promised you wouldn't hurt him!"
Arthur recognized the voice. Yet he was too tired to acknowledge it.
"He insisted on continuing the fight. Besides, you were the one who made the decision to fire on him."
And then his vision slipped and he fell into the depths of his own mind.
