Chapter Twenty-Two: Violet's Strike
The slap never landed…
A pale, strong hand caught it mid-air, fingers tightened slowly around Reign's mother's wrist until her face turned red from pain.
Everyone inside the room didn't dare to move or say anything. Even the twins fell silent in their crib.
Reign's mother gasped and turned. "Violet?"
Violet Kraus was confident…it was the first time Isabelle saw her in real life.
Her dark violet shirt tucked into sharp black trousers. Her dark auburn hair was tied into a sleek ponytail, and a badge gleamed on her hip.
Her facial expression didn't shake even a little.
"Yes," Violet replied coldly. "It's me."
"You dare lay your hands on me?" Reign's mother pulled back her wrist.
Violet didn't let go. "You were about to hit someone in her home. In front of two babies. So yes, I dare."
