Chapter Twenty-Six: Blood and Boardrooms
The room was incredibly still…no dust dared to move out of place, and even Isabelle could almost feel the investors' shocked gazes pressing against her skin like winter wind.
Everything crackled with a really weird tension.
Her mother held the floor again, her tone was so smooth and cold. "Isabelle is… young. Unproven. She's had only months or maybe a year of an actual work."
The investors nodded. One tapped his pen. Another leaned forward, interest shining in his eyes. They had clearly chosen to believe her.
Isabelle sat up straight. Her palms were sweaty, but her voice was stronger than before.
"I've spent the last five years building Munro Tech's phone designs. I was writing proposals, attending trade shows, negotiating contracts—I did that. This company didn't fall in a day." She paused, letting each word land. "I'm not just a name on a document."
