Chapter Twenty-One: Mirrors and Madness
Reign was avoiding Isabelle's eye contact, hands in his pockets, face was purposefully darting away.
Isabelle stepped forward, holding Aron. "You hear them," she said again, but more firmly. "Don't lie to me."
Reign gave a fake laugh. "I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe you're hearing things. Maybe you're losing it, Isabelle."
She narrowed her eyes. "That's what you're going with? Gaslighting me now?"
He shrugged, casually walking to the door. "You need sleep. All this twin stuff is getting to your head."
"Reign—" she stepped closer, but he held up a hand.
"I'm not doing this. Not tonight."
And then he left. Just like that he gave Isabelle no answers, emotions… Nothing.
Isabelle looked at the closed door for a long second, unable to move and believe his crazy character. She looked down at Aron in her arms, who tilted his head at her.
'He's lying,' Aron said quietly in his mind.
