Theo's P.O.V
Lately, my days had been steady. Work was getting done, and the Landrabaros development project was finally gaining traction. The contractors under my supervision had started moving, and I was neck-deep in planning, coordination, and all the technical logistics that came with it.
For some parts, I had to deal directly with Elliot, the Beta of Landrabaros. Which meant I'd have to fly out there.
Honestly? I didn't want to go. I'd already suggested Chester take my place, but our boss shot that down without blinking. Said this needed me, not someone else. And just like that, the argument exploded.
The office door slammed shut behind me. The faint scent of fresh coffee still lingered, but it did nothing to ease the tension choking the room.
He sat behind his desk, arms folded, staring me down like he was already bracing for every excuse I was about to throw at him.
"Chester Harris is competent, sure. But he doesn't have the authority to speak directly with Sir Elliot."
