Theo's P.O.V
I glanced at the steering wheel now and then, watching this Alpha navigate roads that clearly weren't leading back to the office. From the way he drove, Alpha Matthew knew every inch of this city like it was home, better than I ever could.
"You seem pretty familiar with this place," I finally asked, voicing the thought that'd been poking at me for a while.
He didn't answer right away. Just kept his eyes on the road, turning the wheel smoothly as we veered north onto a street I didn't recognize. God knew where he was taking me. A few quiet minutes passed before he finally responded.
"My father and sister live here. I visit them once a month, sometimes a few times a week—just to check if she's doing okay." His voice was flat, unreadable.
"Oh, really? That's... incredibly thoughtful of you," I said. Though if he caught the tone, it probably landed more like sarcasm than genuine praise.
