It was then that multiple enemy groups emerged from the four roads leading to the square.

Upon the enemy reinforcement's appearance, the former raiders and the Tsahanam survivor hurriedly readied their battle stances.

The spearman said as he sprinted to the northern road.
The burly woman and the Tsahanam man had no choice but to follow along his plan.
I perhaps should revise on how we perform our scouting from now on.
Given the difficulties of the higher floors, the scouts needed to be supplied with better equipment if we wanted them to obtain much information on those missions.
The three of them then forced their way through the enemy groups coming from the north.
Based on their former appointments, the two former raiders should had attained at least level 4 in basic weapon skill and had reached general level 16 through their climb with their raider parties.
And it was for those status that they were able to perform such tactical stunt.

The spearman grunted and went to face the many enemies chasing them. The burly woman joined him.
The two former raiders then confronted the horde of enemies coming from the square as the Tsahanam man took aim at the watchtower.

His arrow only grazed the enemy archer.
The hostile replied with an arrow of his own, which fortunately the Tsahanam man anticipated and dodged.

The spearman shouted as a war hound bit his calve.

The burly woman echoed as a pirate captain slashed through her other thigh.

The spearman nodded and began to retreat further into the northern road.

The burly woman tried to follow him but a crossbow bolt struck her back.
The moment she collapsed to the ground, the war hounds immediately pounced on her.

The Tsahanam man looked in horror as his comrade was feasted by the canines.
The spearman hastened his sprint.

The remaining two scouts then followed the northern roads, into the labyrinth streets of the nineteenth floor's town.
Another enemy reinforcements two times the initial forces had entered the field at this point.
And they were all hunting the two scouts.
The Tsahanam man did all he could to eliminate the enemies chasing them from behind, while the spearman took care of any coming from the front.

The power of the forged land was truly terrifying.
Back in Dunia, it would be nearly impossible for few people to take on greater number of enemies like this.
You had to be someone truly exceptional for it to be possible.
I doubted these men were such people or they would be summoned as at least a 3-star.
The unique attributes of the forged land such as 'levels' and 'skills' were what made this impossibility possible.
Exactly what we needed to overcome the end of the world.
The remaining two scouts were definitely taking advantage of the forged land's powers.
The two of them were making steady progress in eliminating the enemies.
It actually seemed they would be able to clear the mission together.
That was until they were facing 15 enemies at once in a three-way intersection.

The spearman said as he strayed further from their formation.
The Tsahanam man, however, finally saw through the former raider's intention.

The spearman grunted at the accusation.
But instead of objecting, the former raider sprinted away from his 'comrade'.
[I'm not gonna die here with you losers! So just go kill yourself so I can live!]
Just as the spearman broke through the enemy line and rushed to the clear road ahead, he tripped on a transparent wire and snapped it off.
A row of spikes then swiftly emerged from beneath him and impaled the spearman through the bottom of his chin and into his skull.
