He called his mom. His mom answered the phone.
"Hello Mom, how are you?" Rose said.
"I'm fine. How's your work going? Is everything okay there?" her mom asked.
"Nothing is okay," Rose said in a low voice.
"Did you say something?" her mom asked.
"No," Rose replied.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you that your dad and I are coming to visit you," her mom said.
"Mom, there's no need for you to come. I'll come to meet you myself. It's not necessary for you to come every time. We'll come there instead."
"No, I've got two days off anyway, so I'll come," her mom insisted.
"No, we are coming and that's final."
Then she ended the call.
Rose fell into deep thought, wondering what she should do now.
She called Lucy and asked her to come over immediately.
When Lucy came to her house, Rose told her that her parents were coming.
"So, did you try to stop them?" Lucy asked.
"I did, but they still want to come themselves."
"So now what will you do?" Lucy asked in surprise.
"That's why I called you here. I think you should take leave from the office so you can tell them that you work somewhere else."
"Yes, you were right. Thank you for your instructions. Okay, leave it now. You're talking as if you're speaking to a stranger. Yes, you're right — I take my thank you back."
Next day
Her alarm was ringing. She looked at the time with half-open eyes and stood up in a panic.
"Oh no! I'm late again."
Rose got up and started getting ready quickly. She hurriedly put on her shoes and left.
When she reached the office, her eyes were on the watch on her wrist. She was so tense that she didn't even notice who was coming from the front. She kept walking in a rush and bumped into a guy — and it wasn't just anyone, it was her boss.
In a flustered tone, she said, "Sorry boss, I'm so sorry. I was in a hurry."
Her boss replied, "It doesn't matter. I'm in a hurry now. Otherwise, I would've given you a proper response."
"That's strange," Rose said in surprise.
She asked the receptionist, "Where is he going?"
"You don't know?"
"No, why? What happened?"
"He bought this company, but his main company isn't here."
"Then where is it?"
"That I don't know. He has many places where his companies are located."
"Oh! Then who will manage this company now?"
"There's a new boss. I heard he's their manager."
"What?!"
She ran outside, but her boss had already gotten into the car and it had started moving. He was gone. Rose just stood there.
She went back to her work. She greeted everyone with a "Hello" and went to her new boss.
"Hello boss. Do you need anything?"
Her voice was heavy, and the chair was turned in the opposite direction.
"I need two days off," she said.
"Anything else?" her boss asked.
"No. So… does that mean I got the leave?"
"Yes. Why not? You need it, right?"
"Then you can go."
"That's strange… he didn't even ask the reason."
"Well, whatever. I got the leave," she said to herself.
She finished her work and left.
