Chapter 11 - 6

She was just about to leave when Jackup pulled her toward him and said that if she left now, she would never be able to work in that company again. Hearing this, Rose gave a slight smile and replied that she had already left that company. Saying this, she pulled her hand away, called a taxi to go home, and left.

On her way home, she kept thinking about what had just happened — whether it was a dream or something else — and she was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize what was about to happen to her.

When the taxi driver stopped the car, she looked around and noticed that she had arrived somewhere completely unfamiliar. She said, "I never gave this address." The driver looked at her with a sarcastic smile and started moving closer to her.

As he stepped forward, Rose instinctively stepped back. She realized they were in a deserted area with no road behind them — only a path forward, which she couldn't take. The driver was now so close that she was pressed against a wall and could no longer move back.

He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and moved it toward her face. He tried to press it against her mouth, but just then, someone hit him on the head from behind with a stick, and he immediately passed out.

His face wasn't clearly visible, but as he stepped a little closer, it became clear that it was none other than Jackup, who had followed Rose.

When Rose saw him, her face turned pale. Tears filled her eyes, and she began crying. She first looked at him properly, then hugged him tightly. But after a moment, she stepped back.

She thanked him. Jackup told her that it was quite late and he would drop her home. Rose agreed, and they both started walking away from the place.

On the way, Rose told him, "You helped me today. I will never forget this favor." She added that she wouldn't tell anyone about him. Hearing this, Jackup felt happy.

Rose then asked him where his taxi went and whose car he had now. Jackup told her that the place where he had taken her earlier was also where he had his own car parked. The taxi was also his, so he brought the other one.

Soon, they reached Rose's home. She thanked him again and started to go inside. As Jackup was about to leave, he noticed that Rose had forgotten her purse inside the car.

He called out to her, but she didn't hear. So he decided he would return it to her the next day and drove off.

When Rose entered the house, her mom asked why she was so late. She didn't tell her anything and said that she had met a friend and spent time with her.

She went to her room and locked the door. Then she went to freshen up.

While doing so, she saw a chain hanging with her clothes. When she looked closely, she realized it was Jackup's chain. She placed it in her drawer, got ready for bed, and went to sleep.

Every night, she used to have bad dreams. That night too, she saw the same dream again and woke up frightened.
