Chapter 269 - chapter 69

Inside the stall, Elder Future Stillness stood shaken. He was just left with something very precious and met with someone very amazing; and be kept his cool.

Now once they were gone, it set in. He covered his mouth and aggressively tapped his foot. He was only shaken out of this stupor because of a shouting, "Core Disciple of Nine Clouds Purple Miasma..." He started to filter out what he was saying.

Elder Future Stillness took a deep breath and opened his arms out far, causing a wind to open up the stall.

He spoke in a quiet authoritative tone, "You may enter..."

Araxis stood high in the sky above Elder Future Stillness' building. He watched Hamar arrive and nodded briefly, "Do well boy, both of you."

Then he turned his cheek and floated away, he exited the secluded realm and felt the world shift for a moment.

If it were anyone else his memories would distort but Araxis had control over the world and he suppressed that natural process. He looked back to the secluded realm and smiles before leaving for a new place.

This time, he went to the heart of the enemies headquarters. He couldn't simply destroy Yi Sect, it was very likely that would make things worse. Instead, Araxis met with a certain figure trapped within Yi Sect's heart.

In the centre of Yi Sect's plans stood a cocoon, and in that cocoon was Hou. Hou had become a special lifeform of this world.

He had intense magical aura, an otherworldly body, and the power to change the world. However, he was in a sealed state. This was his folly, and the reason Yi Sect could use him to fuel their plans.

Araxis stared at the cocoon and stroked his beard lightly, "Hmm." After a few moments he floated forwards.

He touched the surface of the cocoon and left an imprint, "In a crucial moment, you'll have one attempt." Araxis gave Hamar and Hou a helping hand, something that would activate if truly needed in exactly the moment it would be needed.

As the spell stuck into the cocoon, Araxis felt a harsh feedback and clutched his chest. He felt an electric shock and he flared his nose, Yi Sect...or those behind them.

"The causality is dangerous..."

Araxis looked at his handiwork, "This is as much as I can do here, it's a high causality place; much more than helping Hamar." He looked at his hands and saw them become transparent.

He quickly flew away from the scene and floated high in the sky above the world. He held out his hand and waved it across the sky, causing it to split.

He floated into the rift and closed his eyes, "When the final battle occurs, I'll take precautions and block THEM from seeing. That should remove their influence from my own world soon enough.. it's all on the little seedlings I planted now."

Hamar stood inside Elder Future Stillness' stall and observed the surroundings. Instead of a small highly detailed shop of sorts, as he was expecting, he found himself in a clean sleek room.

There was dark walnut wooden floor boards and a fresh smell like spring. Hamar looked up to the Elder and observed him a few moments.

Elder Future Stillness looked like just any normal person, mid twenties, wearing unusual clothes though. He scratched his dirty blond hair, "So how can I help you? Uh, what was it, Hamar?"

Hamar nodded and formulated what he was going to say before he started, "First I want to ascertain something..."

Elder Future Stillness raised his eyebrows and shifted on the spot. Hamar watched carefully and twisted his fingers, ready to summon his sword soul.

"I want to ascertain your allegiance. How do you know about mana. This is something only Yi Sect knows about."

Elder Future Stillness stopped tapping his feet, "Well not only Yi Sect, you do too, clearly" he spoke with a patronising tone, as if he knew he was right.

He rolled his eyes and continued, "But I should clarify, I am by no means associated with Yi Sect. In fact, you may not know why 'Stillness' is in my name, do you?"

Hamar shook his head. Elder Future Stillness puffed out his chest and swung around in a circle, "The 'Stillness' part of my title refers to a slight peculiarity with my condition..."

He continued, "I cannot move. Well I can move, of course I can, but I can't leave this secluded domain. Unless Yi Sect made their way in secretly, I would have no contact with them."

Hamar nodded satisfactorily, "Okay...then I have another question. I don't know if you can give an answer but I entered this place with a miasma butler; a form of miasma soldier created by my Master. You should know that those constructs are his speciality, no?"

"I do, you wish to understand where it went?"

"Exactly." Hamar nodded, this issue had confused him from the start.

Elder Future Stillness but his tongue and looked up, he rocked on the spot for a few moments. He snapped his fingers and pointed to Hamar, "I do apologise but I can't give you the most satisfactory answer but...the problem was...he was just too annoying."

Hamar's jaw fell open and he turned his head, "T-too...annoying?"

Hamar looked dumbfounded towards Elder Future Stillness and observed his face. The elder had a goody expression but Hamar could tell he was being genuine.

T-too annoying...

Hamar smiled confusingly and raised his eyebrows, before rolling his eyes. He rubbed the bridge of his knows and shook his head, "You know what...sure. Then, I think we can move onto the real brunt of why I'm here now. I need your help."

The light-hearted atmosphere darkened a bit and Elder Future Stillness shifted on the spot. He looked Hamar in the eye, "I...owe you, I shall do whatever I can to help you."

Then, in his head, he noted, 'Not the least because the creator of the world himself said to help you, haha.'
