I woke up at the sound of my alarm. And now i am here sit on that look like my bed, questionning the meaning of my existence.
"AAHHHH~Nnn. I should probabily prepare to go to the 'dungeon' or watever it is. I would to sleep a little more but i don't have a choice, life sure is boring." With a distant look he observe his 'chamber'
He stood up from that look like a bed and after dressing with an ordinary black jean, white t-shirt , black hooded pull and black shoes. He exited his bedroom.
Now looking clearly that he exited from is a cabane. A cabane located on a little elevation, in the outskirt of a city. A rather modern little city but a little endommaged.
Upon exiting the house he came face to face with a girl a little shorter than himself , With long raven hair and black eyes.A little beauty she wore a blue jean and a white t-shirt with shoes of the same colour.
She clearly looked at him as if he was a bug that digusted her. But when their eyes met she was looking normaly at him with a smile that clearly was as fake as her chest.
''How come you just wake up. You should put more effort you know. I sufferred to obtain this job for you''. She puffed her cheeks and crossed her hands as if to look cutely angry.
The boy standing in front of her start showing signs of nervousness as fake as her earlier smile. But she was surely too engrossed in her ego and ideas of domination to notice the oddity in his behavior.
''S..ss.sorry. I will be more carefull next time''
''ok. I forgive you but just for this time''
''what should you say?''
With a dejected look on is face the boy inclined his head and execute himself ''thank you for always helping someone like me''
''this is it'' said the girl with a real this time.
she is really pretty, it would have been better. She has a weird domination fetich or something. Aahh.... i'll play the game if it make her happy. If not for being help by her and her father that day maybe i would have die. So in a sense i owe her my life.
''Come on let's go or are you going to stay standing here like an idiot for the whole day?'' This brought him back to reality. And he start following the girl.
They marched in silence passing through the city. during the journey, he start watching the buildings of the half-ruined city. Many houses and builings were destoyed. the population in the city look a little small compared to the space in the city.
I think we're in December doesn't she feel cold. As if remembering something The boy let out a soupir.
This year marque the 15th year since the changement of the world. I think this it was the year 2050 when it started. it's also the year i was found floating on the river water by Zari and her father. i still don't remember anything about my origins and how i found myself there. But they welcomed me and took a little care of me. And i am thankful for that.
15 years ago animals and insects start mutating.they become stronger, scarier, sturdier and fiercer. They start attacking humans and the world was in disarray ,humanity was forced to flee use moderns weapons to defend itself but even this had limits as the now monsters animals were becoming stronger day by day.
Thankfully, when it became close to unbereable, a miracle happened as in every story like this. This miracle come in the form of ours ancestors. Ancestors we had forgotten about. They came to their respectives descendants to give assistance. those who recieved this grace are now called mystics. They are easily detectable because of the magic tattoos representing their powers sometimes exposed by themself.
Thanks to them we have been able to reconstruct 16 great cities where were the capitals of the countries now destroyed. We have been separated from the rest of the world by the forest of no return. Trapped in the western part of our continent. With no mean to reach the outside world. This is that our leaders told us.
The 16 cities is that we have now left. Many tried to travel to the other side of the No return Forest. But there is no bone left to tell that they saw. Our city is named Mpya apparently it means new.
As for me i don't even remember my own name. No ancestor came to me. I am now here working as a carrier for mystics when they go to attack monsters' nests. It is like this i gain my life while trying to remember my past. Right now i am going with Zari to a team of mystics she recommended me. She is also a mystic. I pray this work just end quickly and safely.
Oh look like we arrived.
As i looked in front of me, I saw a guy who made my 1,80 m self look like a a kid in front of an adult. This wasn't totally false, he must be like Between Twenty something an thirty something . He looks taller than 2m.
Apart from him, there was 4 others peoples , two guys and two girls. The giant was bald dressed with what looked like mercenary clothing. He had a greatsword . One of the girl hold daggers ,surely the stealth type. The other one don't apparently hold anything but her bracelets must be magic armaments.they all wear light amors.
One of the guy look like a totally pervert scum. He has the most punchable face I have ever seen, right now my hands are already itching. God I want to punch his face. I already dislike him without a particular reason.
The last one look like their leader. He has the best gear between them all. And seeing his face, he must be have a rich foreign dad or something. His whole posture scream ' i am better than you all '. Aahh~ I want to go back to bed.
Oh look like they have enough of me standing here like an idiot. The chief approached us with a smile surely practiced in front of a miror.
"You are 10 min late it's already 10h10 Zari, if you took more time we would have gone without you so is he the one you recommended. Will he be able to get the job well done ?"
Zari looked annoyed
"I already told you not to call me by my name and it's you who asked for my help. So you should be grateful that I am even here."
He looked at me next
"So you are the one huh. Are you ready .... uhhh what is your name already? "
"I don't have a name. And yes I am ready "
Hearing that the girl with bracelets starts laughing.
" truly with the face of a nobody and with no name truly a nobody until the end "
He let out a breath "Ahh~"
" you know it's ugly to make fun of others peoples miseries "
This sentence made her face really become ugly. She rushed and grabbed him by the collar.
" what did you just say?"
"You heard me well enough " he answered calmly.
With à tired expression he continued
" I am a nobody for you just as you are one for me. We may never cross paths again. And I will forget you. As long as I forget about you, you become a stranger to me, a complete nobody"
At his words she stopped a moment staring at his black eyes who seemed to have seen more than that they let know. Subconsciously she weakened her grip.
Then she said angrily pointing to Zari
"You think because she is here no one can touch you ? Don't you have any pride "
"As A matter of fact, firstly even if you kill me that I said you can't never change it. You can't do anything about it. Secondly, we have women living off men and preaching gender equality. Equality means that I can also live off a woman with no problem. As for my sense of shame? I forgot it along with my name when I became a 'nobody'.And Now all that is left is a shameless unknown Nobody "
Thinking that it was time to interfere mr chief decided it was time to end the conversation
" we have already wasted enough time. We have monsters to kill. Stop bickering and let's go"
"It was damn time " the sly guy spoke for the first time since the beginning.
Zari and the leader looked at each other furtively and we departed. I didn't know a that time what was waiting for me at our destination and that my life would take a drastic turn in 14h.....
