----------------------------------------------------------

After showing Alice her room, I returned to the control room. Once there, I look back at the scan I did of Alice. She not only had the vitality boost from the grove, but it also detected remnant regeneration energy, which should be impossible. No normal human would have shown it, maybe Rose since she was present when the Doctor regenerated, but Alice has no connection to a Time Lord, and we only just met.

So, it can't be from me. There's also what Ada said when we arrived; it's a mystery. I sigh and think I am being paranoid. Then again, the Doctor found some interesting things from scanning his companions, one being Amy while she was pregnant with River Song or Melody Pond, as that is her actual name. He discovered she was a flesh construct, not the actual Amy, so I can't ignore it.

It's so frustrating not knowing. I wonder if this is how the Doctor felt when he started to suspect Amy of being taken and replaced. Even if Amy could control the flesh as if it were her own body, it's the principle of the whole thing.

After finishing my thoughts, I decided it's better to observe her for now. I hope I am not inadvertently getting myself involved with the Silence; that's a problem for future me. Now I should get to deciding where to go. It's my first companion, so I should start with a bang.

That leaves me with many options. As I was thinking, I was interrupted by Ada, who I could feel trying to communicate with me: "No need to think about it; leave it to me. I will find the perfect place for her first trip." I thought about it for a bit before replying, "Sure, just not somewhere too dangerous. There's no need to scare her too much."

After I give Ada the go-ahead, I engage the flight. While I wait, I decide to look over some of the books that were placed on the bookshelves on the left side of the control room. Ada placed these books here, so they may have something useful for me.

I spent the next hour looking through most of them, which contained blueprints or pure knowledge devoid of personal bias. I suppose she is trying to help me compensate for all the time I was kept under the council's watch. Not to mention, I am only 300 years old, and by Time Lord standards, that's young.

By the time I saw the TARDIS disengage flight, I had skimmed through most of the books. Putting the book I had in my hand back into the bookshelf, I moved to the console. Using internal communications, I informed Alice.

After informing her, I looked at when we had arrived. To my surprise, the date is 2206. Changing the display to show what's outside, I see what appears to be a metal corridor with pillars lining both sides of the hallway. Remembering the last time I ended up in a metal hallway, my expression hardens.

Noticing my expression, Ada informs me that we are on a ship rather than a station. After hearing that, I commence a scan of the ship. Seeing the results, I sigh in relief. The ship is a colony ship; however, it appears the ship is not moving but just sitting in place, which I find very curious, since it should be heading to a planet for colonisation.

After I was done thinking, Alice walked into the control room and asked, "So where did you bring me?" Instead of replying, I motioned to the door. Understanding what I meant, she walked to the door and opened it. After seeing the metal walls, she looked back at me.

After looking at me, she moves to one of the doors in the corridor, opens it, and then walks in. I start to follow, closing the TARDIS door behind me. As I do, I notice the appearance has changed, most likely because finding a phone booth in a ship hallway is asking those who see it to investigate. As for what it looks like, it took the original capsule appearance except that the appearance has taken a similar aesthetic to the pillars in the corridor. Surprisingly, it blends in very well; you can't even notice that it's slightly thicker and has a door on it unless you are actively looking.

After admiring my TARDIS for blending in, I moved to the door Alice had entered. I saw her inside, looking out a window that gave a view of the vastness of space outside the ship. The expression of wonder on her face put a smile on my face. It's no wonder the Doctor showed Rose this on their first trip to humans of the 21st century, who have yet to see much of space; it's breathtaking.

After allowing her time to admire the site, I asked, "Are you ready to explore some of this ship? I am rather curious why there's no one about." After hearing me, she pulled her eyes from the view before speaking, "Yea, I am ready. It's just hard to believe that I am here in space, is all."

I was right, there's no one here; we spent the next few minutes looking into the rooms before we came to that conclusion. Its rathe baffaing how does a colony ship not have a single person onboard, after we exit the last room in the corridor I move towards a terminal on the wall taking my sonic wrench, which after having it so long feels too big I might have Ada design a more fitting sonic device maybe, one that's easily portable as running with a wrench on my waist is very uncomftable.

I used the terminal to find out anything about the ship. What I found is that this ship comes from a human colony in the neighbouring system from where we currently are. What got my attention, though, was the fact that there were supposed to be three full crew complements who work in shifts, yet we found no one.

That's surprising because we are currently in the crew quarters, which have an elevator that goes from here to the bridge and engineering. So, this place should always have two full crew complements. This leads me to believe something happened, and my gut and knowledge of the show tell me it's not good.

I take a bit more time to see if there are any life signs, only to find that there's only one, and after identity, its location appears to be Alice, who is next to me. It seems as though the system only recognises human life, not others, which means there's a chance that something that the system does not recognise is responsible, not good for me at all going in blind is bad I am not the Doctor who always has the plot on his side, but I can't help my excitement from showing regardless at the whole situation, maybe I am more like the Doctor than I realise oh well.

Once I was done with the terminal I inform Alice to see what she wanted to do, to my surprise she wants to continue exploring, thinking I move back to my TARDIS, opening the door and entering, I had taken some weapons from the Torchwood, I will not leave my companions defenseless so I grab the gun I had put in my TARDIS before bringing out and handing it to Alice who to my surprise handles it like a professional.

It just makes me more curious about her. I hope she's not my own personal impossible girl, now that would be a funny scenario. After finishing my musings, I head towards the elevator with Alice not far behind.

At the elevator, we both entered, setting its destination for the bridge. Although I could access some things, the terminal here was limited in what it could access, so for more information, it's best to head to the bridge.

It does not take long for us to arrive. The elevator doors open to reveal a room similar to the bridge of a Star Destroyer from Star Wars, although with more vibrant colours. The lowered sides with bridge consoles are still there, with the captain's chair right in front of the bridge window, or rather what looked like a window. Yet, the window itself resembles a screen more than a window.

Ignoring Alice's look of awe as she examines the bridge, I head to the captain's chair to access the ship's mainframe and see what the hell happened to the ship. Once I am in the mainframe I look over the reports of the captain, apparently this ship also doubled as a science vessel meaning there's labs on board, in one of the reports one scientist was task with making exo suits, seeing this report I can already figure out that one of two possibilities happened one the scientist went rogue or he made something he should not have.

As I was musing, I heard Alice call my name: "Mechanic, did you activate the elevator?" Hearing her, I looked towards the elevator, seeing that it was closed. "Get over here. It looks like we are about to have company." Hearing me, I walked over, still carrying the gun.

Next to me, she held the gun and pointed it at the elevator. It does not take long before the elevator arrives back at the bridge, and once it opens, I first tell her to shoot. Standing in the elevator were two metal men that any Doctor Who fan would know, Cybermen.

As if hearing the urgency in my voice, the first thing she does is shoot. Luckily, the weapon I had given her was very effective, causing the cybermen to collapse before they could speak, What are they?" I look at the cybermen before looking at her and saying, "They are cybermen, they were the crew and colonists on this ship. However, they look different than what I have seen before" this was true the appearance was somewhat unique, it being one that I have never seen before looking more elegant than I would expect from a cyberman, heck one was clearly female even having the area which a normal women would have breast, have metal ones, who every made these was either a pervert or someone who was clearly narcissistic enough to want their creation to be pleasing to the eye.

"Whoever made them is mad, no matter how you look at it" Hearing her say this, I can only laugh, thinking about how often a single man's will to survive can create such things and things much worse. The first thing I do is lock the elevator. I need time to see just how close these versions are to normal Cybermen, but I have a gut feeling that my original idea that these are cybermen was either a member of the crew or from the colonists originally
