Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

As Alya shut down like everyone else around her. She was unaware that her son Crater and Page were standing right behind her at the moment. She had a box in her hands, as there was something that she had gotten and was coming to show off to Alya, with Carter trailing behind her. Page was also offline, not because she was affected by what caused everyone else to turn off, but more so because she is loyal to the Southern Guardian. Since she did not view this as a danger to herself or his goal, she just shut down on her own, as he had everyone else doing it, so she did it as well. Carter, on the other hand, was visibly annoyed at this as he looked at his mom and Page just there in their offline state, like everyone else.

'How many times must I teach this lesson, old man?' Reva thought to himself.

Carter was the only person in the settlement who was not loyal to Reva directly or indirectly at the moment. Everyone else in the settlement(who was there originally or brought their over time) was there because they were roboticized by him or through his method of it. The only exception was Page and Alya, who were not, but Page was a legit follower, and Alya was loyal to Carter the same way everyone else was to him. Carter himself was the only one who was just his ally because their goals aligned at the moment.

Carter walked through the settlement where everyone was frozen in what they were doing at the moment. Going through and making sure that no one was set up to damage themselves or the settlement from all of a sudden just going offline like this. This was not the first time that Reva had done something like this, as Carter did not know what other Guardians were supposed to be like, as the only experience he had dealing with them was through what he had to experience with Reva as the Southern one. However, he wondered if they were as much of a hassle or pain to deal with as he was at times.

Before going to Reva himself, he had to make sure that the settlement did not burn down...again, from someone who shut down suddenly, leaving on or possibly creating a fire hazard from doing so. That was annoying as it left the two of them to go about rebuilding the settlement themselves, which at the time did not take much effort or skills. Though they were also lucky that it was when the settlement was still small and had just stopped being merely an isolated village. So there was not much that needed rebuilding that would be beyond what the two of them could handle alone. As for everyone else, they were completely fine as the fire was not hot enough to even affect them in any way.

Then, some were flying around in the sky when the order went out, and they would crash to the ground. While that seems like it might cause some issues, it would have if they were still human when they crashed into the ground after falling out of the sky. The only problem came not from them hitting the ground but the craters that they cause when they are hit it directly. That or the damage they caused to the things they landed on as a result, as just landing on another automaton did not do anything to either of them directly, but it did affect the ground more though however. So those in the sky now remain in the sky as that was part of the effort Reva made to ensure they did crash land into the ground, cause damage to it or whatever they landed on at the time as long as it was not another automaton.

Once he had made sure there was nothing that could cause damage to the settlement at that moment, Carter went directly to Reva to see what was going on with him and why he wanted what he did. Only to find him sighing as there was Cami and the tall girl around her age, at least in appearance, standing there. Cami was in a showing pose that seemed like she was trying to direct attention to the tall girl as she stood there, both of them currently offline.

Reva himself was just standing there pinching his forehead.

"Hey, stop being distracted by whatever scenario is going on within that head of yours and look around yourself," Carter said to him, annoyed.

"What are you talking about, Carter....wait, huh!? Why are you here anyway?" Reva asked.

"Why do you think I am here, as you did it...again?" he told him.

That is when Carter informed him that whatever he thought he did to Cami and the tall girl applied to everyone within the settlement as well. Thus, everyone was offline as a result of his actions; for whatever reason, they did so.

"So, who is this girl anyway, as Page just decided to roboticize her the moment she saw her after scaring her so badly she fainted," Carter told him.

"She and Cami are always doing things like this on their own. Page is one thing, but Cami does stuff like this all the time, too," Reva exclaimed after learning how Myne ended up like this.

"Page is one thing, as she will act in what she thinks is best for you on her own, as she is currently your only true follower. However, I thought you would have more control over Cami, as she is only loyal to you because you roboticized her after all. Not complaining, though, as your way of doing things matches up with what I want, which is why we stay after all." Carter told him

"Page would follow me regardless, as she is loyal to me after all," Reva told him.

"That is the neat thing, she is not. She is loyal to the Southern Guardian, which just so happens to be you, and you just so happen to fit her idea of what a Southern Guardian should be," Carter told him.

Going on to explain that her loyalty to him is not truly tied to him directly at all. It is tied to him acting within what she thinks of how he should be as the South Guardian she always looked up to. Thus, it would possibly turn on him if he ever stopped acting within what her ideals of the title were.
