Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

Alya saw, amongst others, those who lived within the settlement, which they all called home. They were having a normal day out together, as they always did, just an average everyday thing that they did after all. They were all the parents of the children who were eagerly and animatedly playing behind them within the playground area. A place that was built just for them to enjoy themselves all day if they wanted to. While their parents were all gathered around, talking amongst themselves about their kids and various other things they did at times like these.

"You will never believe what my boy did the other day," a long hair mother said

"That nothing compared to what my girl did," a short hair mom replied

"You two are lucky, as you only have one kid and not two to take care of like me, and basically you as well, right Alya?" a mom with shoulder length hair said

"Huh!? Right, I guess I do have two kids to take care of," Alya said as she laughed.

"Seriously, you do space out like that at times a lot....more than you used to," the short hair mom said

"Really, I did not realize that must have just been thinking about something," Alya told her.

What Alya and the other mothers were unaware of was that she was basically an anomaly; in fact, everyone who lived with her was an anomaly in their own right, though for different reasons. The fact that they were sure was never a problem nor an issue because of how the settlement became. This was after Reva claimed control over the original isolated village, which used to be as result from numerous reasons and circumstances that led to this conclusion. Alya, being the mother of Carter and the caretaker of Page, was not originally seen in such a positive light as she is now, just talking with everyone with a care in the world. Alya and her son Carter were original outsiders of the village despite being born and raised there their entire lives. The reasoning for this status was mostly because they never really thought as the other villagers did back then, which is why Page was originally taken in by Alya back when she was found, rather than left alone like everyone else in the village that noticed Page's dying mother had done. They did not accept outsiders into the village, as that was just how the place was back then.

Unknown to everyone, the subtle effect of living so close to Reva in his state at the time had been what caused them to reject outsiders as much as they did. Once they were all roboticized into their current state that, that treatment that Alya, Carter, and Page got from them was completely forgotten by everyone but Page and Carter themselves. The two of them just did not care, while Alya she was different. She did forget, but that was not because of anything Reva did, but instead something that Carter himself had done. After being roboticized himself, he noticed immediately that the one that his mom followed was not Reva but himself for some reason. He did not care as to why, since the only thing he wanted was to just enjoy life with his mom and Page, thus wanting his mom to enjoy the life he thought she deserved. So like Reva, who never was proactively actively controlling everyone else, but the three of them decided to have his mother do whatever everyone else was doing at the time. Basically, his only order to her was to go with the flow and do what she saw everyone else doing as long as it did not endanger her at least.

"So how are Page and Carter doing anyway?" the shoulder length hair mom asked

"You know those two, as they are busy doing what they always do for Cami and Reva," Alya said

No one is picking up that she does not and never refers to them as Lady Cami and Lord Reva, as everyone else does. As even Cami refers to Reva in such a tone and state as that, it shows how things are for those who are under his control, but Alya is similar to them but different, as she is under Carter's control. Never does because her son does not do so, that being the reason she does not. It is a complicated setup where the mother is under the son, but then again, a lot of things about this settlement even existing in the first place were and are abnormal compared to how things were supposed to go normally. Then again, having an abnormal Southern Guardian like Reva leads to abnormal things happening because of him and to everyone around him, as well as under him, too.

As Alya was busy laughing and just enjoying her time with her fellow moms, they gathered around like this, as they always did around this time of the day and week. That is when it happened as Reva accidentally caused everyone in the settlement to shut down from not controlling himself properly. The order to shut down affected everyone who was within the settlement at the time, and even a majority of the robots that were roaming around it as well. They were under his direct control as well, after all, as this entire region was what was left of what should have been the domain of the Southern Guardian. Though he was unaware, he would much later be grateful that his accidental outburst did not extend beyond the settlement's ground to cover the remains of his domain in its current state. The reasons and purpose for stating this would be a story for another day, however.

Currently, Alya looked around herself to notice everyone had all of a sudden stopped moving. Curious and confused, she wondered why this was the case for being so. It was then that she returned to her original pose when she noticed this and then shut herself in, as everyone else had. The short delay was her own system detecting and determining its own course of action based on what it was observing. Once it had that, Alya shut herself down as it was determined that such action would be the correct course to take. Though Alya nor anyone else in the settlement would notice this, minus two of them though
