"Why are you here, Carter?" Myne asked him.
As Reva gave the order that caused everyone to turn back on, just like he unintentionally given the one that caused them all to turn off. Thus, Myne, being under Reva's control like everyone else, had her memories altered to fit her current scenario that she was in. She retained her original self and personality, however she lost all knowledge of herself ever being human, and there was another factor that was present. This being a factor that was present only for those who were roboticized into automatons from outside the village, as they had their memories altered to think they were always part of the settlement and that they automatically knew and were known by everyone in the settlement from the moment they fully came online. Excluding Page, who, despite being from outside the village, was not born as a member of it. As she retains all her memories unaltered and not affected by the same thing that affected everyone else. She just did not care at all about that aspect of herself anymore, the same as both Carter and Reva. The three of them had every memory they ever formed from birth crystal clear in their heads, but they just chose not to care about those memories of themselves when they were not automatons. Though Cami was not like this, as she was subjected to affect as if she were a villager herself, as she automatically knew someone who was roboticized and became someone that was now a part of it. For Cami, though, things were similar but slightly different, as everyone, minus Carter and Page, answered to her after all.
"Reva was being Reva...again," Carter told her.
"I see that makes sense," Myne replied.
That was something that everyone just automatically accepted in times like these, as anything that might possibly cause issues with them as a result of Reva being intentionally or unintentionally. It was just explained away as him being merely himself. Thus, the problem was just hand waved away, as it was no longer considered an issue that anyone would continue to worry about or give any thought to from that point onward. It truly and fully would be treated this way, as once something like this happened, and that was the reason, it would just be that way.
"Why are we here again?" Myne asked Cami.
"I am pretty sure it was to show you off to Reva, as he somehow has not seen you until now," she replied.
"Huh!? How is that even possible?" Myne said, wondering.
Cami just shrugged her shoulders, as this was something that happened from time to time after all. As Reva would not know someone that everyone else claimed had been there along. That is from their point of view, as the one in question would have been someone roboticized recently, thus they were retroactively added to everyone's memories, minus the memories of Reva, Page, Carter, and Alya. Something that, however, never bothers them, as they just adjust to knowing them after meeting would be all.
Myne and Cami then left together, as they had walked our talking about various things here and there as they went.
"Going to be getting back myself now that I am done here as well," Carter said.
Walking off, as he did not have a reason for being here himself anymore, having dealt with the issue he had with Reva. He was ready to get back to where his mother and Page were at the time it all went down. While Reva himself was sighing, as he watched everyone leaving, as they did.
'Hopefully, she is the only Director that I somehow manage to come across,' Reva thought.
The more of them that he had somehow managed to acquire, the more likely it was that somehow the relation would only grow more and more likely if that were the case. As he managed to luck out with Myne being the last of her bloodline. Thus, no one came after him to reclaim land that Myne herself did not even have memories of. So, thoughts were that Myne would be the only one, thus allowing them to continue to exist here within the remains of his domain. Forgotten by everyone, and even time as well, given the state over where he was supposed to be ruling from as one of the four Guardians after all.
For here time would then just continue to march onward, as everyone would just become accepting of Myne, seeing her as being a member of the settlement that had always been there. A marvel at how that was possible to those who were actually aware of her, this not being the case, but just never really bothering to bring it up themselves. They were just adjusting to how things went in their usual way, as it was not every day that someone new was added to the settlement after all. As they did not go about roboticizing everyone who ended up in the forest after all. That was one of the ways they were still hidden from the rest of the world, even after all this time. It was the fact that who and who was not roboticized was actually a fairly selective process that happened for those who pre-roboticization would have been considered outsiders to all the original residents of what was once an isolated village.
Though there were things that were slightly different for Myne than they were for others who were roboticized and became a part of the settlement before she had thought. All those before her were just once normal people who were roboticized into an automaton version of themselves that just considered normal residence afterwards. Myne, being a Director that had no idea of what and where she was, was even supposed to be in charge. That would cause some issues for a while, given what her role was originally supposed to be compared to how she ended up as a result of Reva being out of the loop for so long.
