Chapter 5 - A God's Domain

"We are finished here." Yvonne turned her blade hand back to normal, while the hand with strings was busy absorbing the energy that had been released after fiend's death. The young God had made a mess while consuming the fiend and Yvonne took it upon herself to replenish the energy she had donated to him while teaching him to sense aether. There was no such thing as too much aether for a God.

"I want to learn how you turned your hands into blades and strings." After witnessing the death of a newborn God, he was now more inclined to not let this happen to himself.

He had seen how Yvonne had dominated the fight without giving the aether beast any respite. Taking it down in measured strikes.

Even though he had no combat experience, he could still spot the impeccable blade work. No moment was wasted, and transition to each slash was flawless.

Her body excluded an aura of unmatchable grace, it was like watching an artist create a masterpiece. But instead of a canvas, it was an aetherial beast and blades took the spot of brushes. Simply beautiful.

"Not now, but we will cover it somewhere down the line. I have to return to my world, I'm late as it is." Her smile had returned after the feeding and subsequent appreciation that followed.

"Do you have a world of your own?" He wasn't particularly surprised because he thought that every God had a world or two of their own to manage and rule. The conversation with Aether had seeded a belief in his mind that every God had created life of their own.

(A/N:- Whenever I use the word Aether in capital, it means I'm referring to the consciousness of the world. And if I'm using aether, it means I'm referring to the substance gods and other creatures use in order to sustain themselves.)

"Yes, would you like to see it? And I can teach you more about our abilities." Yvonne didn't want to influence his personality in any unnecessary way. And the only reason she took him on a hunt was because she wanted him to know about the fiends and the danger they posed to the ignorant of her kin.

She didn't want an unfortunate fate to befall on the young God she had taken a liking to. He was very similar to her when she was born, naive and lost. Uneducated to ways of the universe and aether. But very curious when given an opportunity to learn the aether arts.

"I would very much like to see it. Before you came I was trying to go to a planet to see if I could create life."

The planet on which he was trying to create life was a gas giant. It meant that there was no solid surface and no elements of life necessary to create life. There was also the matter of weather. There were constant storms and varying temperatures which prevented any seed of life from growing.

Although it was possible to create living organisms in such harsh conditions, a newborn like him would consider themselves on their backfoot trying to do it.

Both of them used rush to travel to Yvonne's domain. Even while traveling at nearly the light speed, it took them some time to reach their destination.

They both stopped when Yvonne's planet appeared. It was a beautiful planet with two moons orbiting around it. One of those moons was grey while the other one was rusty red. The grey moon was bigger than the red, three times bigger to be exact.

The planet had a blue ocean and bountiful lands. It was amazing to see different terrains, from green rain forests to golden deserts, Icey mountain peaks to large grasslands. The new God was once again taken back by the beauty of universe.

"Welcome to Ionia. I hope you like my world, it took me a while to make it prosper but I'm proud of it." She had the look of a craftsman, inspecting their product after a long time making it.

"It's quite beautiful, Although I haven't seen much of anything, this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen"

She giggled and thanked him.

As they were talking a small ball of light came hovering towards them both, before stopping near Yvonne, "Welcome back master. I hope you had a safe journey." The small ball of luminescence slowly transformed into a tiny version of Yvonne with feather wings on its back with colourful hair instead of blonde and ocean blue eyes.

"Thank you for asking, Celia. And I brought a guest with me, try to accommodate him please."

"As you wish master." Celia turned towards the newborn who was eyeing her with curiosity. He had tried to sense her with his aether sense and had found something strange. She had an aether core but instead of possessing a usual outer aether layer, she had an assortment of various coloured particles ranging from blue, red, brown, yellow to white and black.

As he was busy observing this strange phenomenon, Celia was asking him questions while getting no answers back. Celia knew the man standing before her was a God, so she didn't dare offend him.

Yvonne looked at the newborn with a smirk on her face, she knew him to be a curious one but looking at the troubled Celia, she decided to intervene.

"Ahhhmm. Celia is trying to talk to you." She politely nudged him through their mind link to break him out of his reverie. It worked and he apologized to Celia and asked her to repeat her question.

"May I know your name, your majesty." She respectfully bowed her head while asking this.

"I don't have a name yet, I'm just a newborn. Yvonne brought me here to teach me more about my abilities." This surprised Celia because she could sense that the God standing in front of her was not weak like a newborn, he had a significantly stronger core. Although he was not strong as an elder God, he was way stronger for a newborn.

He had grown stronger due to consuming aether rich fiend surpassing the powerhold of a newly born god. It took a long time for any newborn god to become as strong as he was through simple aether absorption.

(A/N:- I'll call it absorption from now on to stop crowding word aether. A little reminder, absorption is a process in which a God consumes aether in their surroundings by vibrating the particles and activating them, before bringing them to the core.)

Although she was surprised, she didn't let it appear on her face and continued,

"I hope you like our star system and enjoy your stay here." Her smile rivalled Yvonne's.

"If you don't mind, can I ask what exactly are you?"

She was about to answer before Yvonne intervened her, "I'll teach him about your origin Celia, you may go back now. We'll discuss other matters soon. Thank you." Celia once again bowed and flew back to the planet.

The young God looked at her before asking, "What is she? She has an aether core but no body?"

"I'll get to it later. You wanted to create life, right?" He nodded and Yvonne continued, "I'm sure aether has taught you how to do it. But I'll explain a little bit more."

"To create life, you need to find a proper host planet which has elements of life. Mainly solid crust with an atmosphere and ocean." He was listening closely to the conditions, a planet needed to host living beings.

"Ocean to living beings is what aether is to us. A cradle of advanced life and opportunities. And you would have to learn how to create it and other elements. And for that we can to travel to my planet here". She had a teasing smirk on her face as she saw changes on young God's face. Although he lacked a true face, his mind was still open like a book, projecting emotions for the world to see.

"What?"
