'WHAT?!?'
He looked at her. Clearly taken back.
"I was here for common decency. I'll be leaving now." He turned around to leave.
"Wait!" She had leaned out of bed and grabbed his hand.
"Stay."
"What?"
She was looking down. Her face away from him. He couldn't see her but her voice was shaky.
"I don't want to be alone."
He was surprised. He had expected her to let him walk away. He sat back down and looked at her expectedly.
She let go of his hand and stared out the window. The sky was blue and sun was fully out. Truly a beautiful day.
"I have no one."
"Surely you don't mea-"
"You're the only other person I've really talked to other then our housekeeper." She interrupted
She began retelling him her life. How she had endured so much over the past few years. What was meant to be a few sentences became paragraphs.
"I know my dad doesn't love me. Why would he love an accident? I'm nothing but a stain on his shirt that won't come off no matter how hard he washes it."
"You'd think surely my own sister would love me. Instead she's the worst of them all."
She had started off calm but as she continued she got emotional. Yet she never shed a tear.
"Why cant I ever be good enough?" She whispered.
As he listened he understood why she had been so cold before. With a past like hers you had to be tough. That once fiery appearance she had displayed crumbled to reveal a broken girl. He was about to say something but the nurse suddenly called out.
"Ms. Li your driver is here."
"Oh. Thank you." She had been hoping to stay and talk a little longer but it seemed that wouldn't happen.
She quietly made her way off the bed and walked towards the door.
"Li Hua!"
"Ye-"
She turned around but before she realized it Su LingTian had hugged her.
As she stood in his embrace she felt her eyes sting. She had been holding it in for a moment but she felt her will collapse.
"You're not alone, I'll be here for you."
Those words rang in her ears and touched her heart. Finally she began crying.
They stood there for a few minutes. She didn't want to let go and neither did he.
"Ms Li. I told you your driver is here."
"I'm sorry."
She looked at him one last time and left the room.
Now alone with the nurse he turned to her.
"I think I'm in love."
The nurse looked at him and sighed. "I've heard that one before."
"I mean it."
"They all do."
Hearing her response, she was starting to get on his nerves. What did she know? He left the room oblivious to the figure a few feet away.
Li Yan couldn't comprehend what she heard. Su LingTian was in love....with Li Hua? Her fist clenched as memories flooded her mind.

A crowd had gathered around Li Yan.
"YanYan you're so pretty."
"Right you could model!"
"Guys don't flatter me." She weakly smiled.
On the outside she looked like a sweet innocent girl but on the inside she relished in it. She knew she was perfect and so did everyone else.
One of the guys spoke up. "Li Yan, I think me and you should go out one day."
A bunch of the girls started yelling at him.
"Why would you say that?!"
"Of course she wouldn't."
Hearing that Li Yan could almost barf. Look at him? He thought he could go out with her? In his dreams.
"I would but I have a lot of work to do. I'll get back to you on that though." She sweetly smiled. Of course she couldn't say what she really felt.
The boy was pleased by her answers.
"See all of you think you're so smart!"
While the others kept rambling, Li Yan looked upfront. The only guy who deserved her was Su LingTian. He was perfect just like her and she deserved nothing less. To her dismay, he never even glanced at her.
She had tried many things like slipping him candys and writing him secret notes. Yet she got nothing in return. Despite this she felt that he would succumb to her one day. The thought of that kept her spirits up.

That was 4 years ago.
To think the one he ended up liking was not her but her sister?! The very idea of it made her blood boil.
Suddenly a thought formed in her head and she began to smile.
"I'll let you have you're fun sis. For now." She grabbed her bag and made her way to class.
