"What do you mean you can't find her?" Charles said in the other end of the phone. He was anxious. It had been a week since Sam went home. She did not say anything but he was aware the circumstances that he was not welcome. He predicted that she went back to her grandfather. He still could not find her whereabouts.
He pondered who was this long lost grandfather that even he a very prominent businessman had some troubles in pointing out her locations.
"Find my wife" he yelled, then the door suddenly opened.
There was a uptight old man entering the room. He had such strong aura of deadly man. His eyes were piercing through him.
"No need to find her, she already left" he said with great suppression emitting from him. He was not moving much, but he was looking closely at him. "You must be her grandfather," he stepped closer. He did not heed to the strong aura of the old man.
"I am Charles" Charles extended him arm to greet, but her grandfather did not just plainly ignore him. He also interrupted him, "I am quite acquainted with you"
He left him hanging that Charles decided to retract his greet. He sat across of this stubborn old man.
"I will get to the point. Sammy already signed the divorce papers, and you have no other choice but to accept the fact you can no longer hold her down" he said as he sipped the coffee that Charles' secretary prepared for them. Grandfather looked through the window as if reminiscing of a long past. "Sammy will no longer be a Sung" he said as he looked away as if trying to forget a painful past, "She will be my sole heir, Samantha Lizzelle Cox" he said straight forward to him.
Charles paused for a while. He had heard a long the Cox family has kept low for a while, but he never thought he would meet someone like that. Sammy's grandfather stood and was about to leave. Charles was trying to talk to him, but got rebutted, "be glad that I did not touch your empire" he said and his long stride went on.
"Its already done" Sam's grandfather said. Samantha was at the other end of the world. She was looking at the sunset view which was seen outside her veranda. She was having a cold tea inside her room. She was taking her time to relax before the call arrived. Her heart was aching as she could never return back to the man she loved. She could not defy her grandfather. She felt she owned it to her grandfather the chance she had especially to get away from such suffocating life. She did not know what would happen in the future if she could go on. But she knew she should not give up for her son sake.
"Thank you, grandfather" she said.
"Is Jacob already asleep?" she asked.
"I saw him earlier at the study. He was busy with his extra lessons" he said,
"Grandfather, those lessons are too much for a kid" she whined.
"Yes, but its for his own good" he added, "Very well, please kiss him good night for me" she said before hanging up.
Charles had drank nonstop at that night. His divorce was finalized. She was no longer his. He was smashing everything inside the mansion of their home. His servants could only go to their rooms and pretended that he was not there.
"Charles" Clara panicked when she snuck in. She was given a key from Charles's grandfather.
"What are you doing here?" he screamed at her when he noticed her. His drunkard movement, made it difficult for him to stand straight. He was pointing at her as he blamed her, "She left because of you".
Clara stepped closer at him slowly as her fear was increasing inside her. She did not know what to do. But she must had this chance.
She kissed him but she was pushed away.
"what are you doing? Have you not some respect of yourself?" he said,
Silence came first. "Yes, I dont" she said as she stood slowly. "I even lower my pride for you to love me" she said as she stepped closer again.
"That is how I love you" she said eye to eye. Charles was annoyed. He flicked her chin up. "No matter what, I WILL NEVER LOVE YOU" He said with intense anger, " You will regret crossing me" he said and pushed her down.
