Inside the parked Pusang by the roadside, the monk was drinking water while Gyatso was fiddling with the Bone Beads in his hands, both appearing somewhat listless.
The monk drank water quite frequently as there wasn't much for them to do sitting there. They couldn't participate in the things Mr. Su Bai was involved in since any consequences might fall on them as well, and naturally, the punishment would too;
Yet they also couldn't stop Mr. Su Bai, for if they considered it from his perspective, they had no reason to say no to his actions.
"Monk, are you still feeling conflicted?" Gyatso asked as he gently played with the Bone Beads, the two of them being monks who had lived together for a long time and naturally understood each other.
"It's hard to bear," the monk said feeling melancholic.
"Is it hard to bear for those elderly folks, or for Mr. Su Bai?"
"Mr. Su Bai," the monk provided his answer from within.
"Do you think he has changed?"
