Chasing after Edwin, I found the four of them already engaged in a water fight. I had intended to enjoy a leisurely boat ride, but the canal had turned into a battleground of splashing water.
Edwin, teamed up with Lainkel, was creating waves in the once-calm canal, while Genise and Kayenne countered with their own tsunami-like splashes.
"Maybe we should skip the boat ride."
"I agree, Haven."
If we launched the boat into the canal now, it would surely be capsized by the chaos.
Haven and I found a spot outside the canal and looked again at the paper Edwin had given me.
The once-kingdom of Illione had become a vassal state to the Grand Duchy of Sutton the year Kayenne was born. And Edwin, Grand Duke Sutton, had then transferred this land to Kayenne, making the kid the current rightful owner.
Though it was called a vassal state, Illione was still run effectively by its former king, now the governor.
