Three Months Later...
.
Three months have passed since Mikey allied himself with the government and Emily, established an attack unit with enforcers, and reunited with his childhood friend.
During the span of those three months, Mikey and the attack unit had been training nonstop in aspect they were lacking in. With the information provided by Minami and Akari, Emily had devised a plan to overthrow the invading forces.
On the other hand, Mikey trained himself into the ground day in and day out, wanting to prevent his premonition manifesting into reality.
"Honestly Mikey, you need a break-"
"No Akari. y'all don't understand, even if I were to explain it. I just have to become stronger to prevent the worst from happening. Only I have the power to do so..."
Akari remained silent and could only watch as Mikey swung his sword repeatedly, his body drowning in sweat and his arms stinging in pain from being overused. Despite the pain, he had carried on with his repetitions, burning the pain into his muscle memory.
"Just because you have the strongest ability doesn't mean you have to do it alone, otherwise what was the point of this team. Dummy"
After stating her obvious disappointment, Akari had turned and left the room.
"I know...I just hope you're right."
Mikey sighed and continued his repetitions, his eyes blazing with a newfound determination.
.
"Ma'am, we have yet to receive word from Minami and Akari. What should we do?"
"Tch. Then it's time to launch an all-out assault. Gather every unit and be ready. In two months, we will be initiate war."
"Right away ma'am."
The woman in question was none other than Yuriko, the leader of the celestial-demon race that was currently invading the planet.
"Those damn robots think they're so mighty with those toys. I'll show them all the wrath of the demon queen."
.
Keith and Minami sat alone in an open field, basking in the cool breeze that settled the smoldering heat.
"So, what's your leader like?"
"Honestly. She's a true tyrant. Her power within our species is unparalleled. It's rumored that our previous demon king had died by her hands. Though I guess it isn't much of a rumor if it's true, because that demon king was my father."
Keith opened one eye to glance over at Minami who sat with her eyes closed and head tilted toward the sky, as if she was reminiscing. For a brief second, that stone cold expression she always wore to protect herself had cracked, and Keith noticed.
"I see. I guess we're the same in a way. You see, my mother killed my father then ended her own life."
This had made Minami finally open her eyes and turn her head toward Keith with subtly wide eyes.
"Yeah, most people have the same reaction when I tell them. You see, my father was a scientist and one day he had experimented on this child that had just been born. My mother found out and couldn't live with that, so she decided to end his life and in doing so, realized she couldn't bear that burden and so she took her life right in front of me."
Keith had finally stood up, slowly stretching his body with a subtle yawn as if he didn't just drop a bombshell of a lore regarding his life.
"I guess we are the same. Then if we survive against her, how about we go out to dinner sometime?"
A small blush crept across Minami's cheeks in embarrassment, her eyes narrowly shut as if waiting for the rejection.
"Sure. This is the first time a beautiful lady had asked me out for dinner. Maybe my life has some luck in it after all"
A small but noticeable smile had graced Keith's usual stoic face, watching as Minami stood up with a smile of her own.
"Then it's a date"
.
"I've always wondered something. Emily, your incapable of feeling human emotions?"
Mikey had been jogging alongside Emily across the abandoned city, engulfed in the silence for far too long.
"I am not. If I happen to be able to, then no one has made me feel a human emotion"
Emily's expression remained stoic and unchanging, earning a sigh from Mikey who slowly began to feel the fatigue from the brutal training.
With nothing else to say, the two had continued their jogging in silence.
.
Two Months Later...
.
The attack unit established by the government and ran by Michael Sonora with the help of android 4245 known as 'Emily', had been sent to the front line.
"Allow me to start us off."
Mikey stepped forward with closed eyes and a stoic expression that did not match the sadistic tone in his voice, sending subtle shivers up most of the unit spines.
Then his eyes opened.
Gone were his typical brown colored eyes, now they were replaced with a golden color, and his pupils were transformed into arrows that pointed downward.
His right arm lifted slowly as he extended it outward.
The opposing forces grew closer and closer, the ground trembling underneath their match.
Then Mikey snapped his finger.
A very subtle shift had rippled across the very space itself, spreading across the entire enemy front line. Then in a mere blink of an eye, the approaching frontline had been slammed into the ground by an unseen force.
Next, the abandoned buildings that were nearby had collapsed right on top of them at the same time they were crushed by the unseen force.
"Let the battle begin."
.
Keith watched in satisfaction as Mikey utilized the gravitational vectors to immobilize the opposing frontline and temporarily stopping their advance by blocking the path.
Though never the one to be outdone, Keith had decreased the gravitational pull to his gravitational field by the planet to achieve a weightless state.
Then he leapt forward and very high into the sky, disregarding air resistance to achieve the ideal system of work-energy transformation.
Whilst airborne above the approaching army, Keith had suddenly increased his gravitational field, resulting in him being pulled down toward the ground at a terrifying velocity. Though before he had reached the enemy forces, he transformed the gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy.
Thus, contact with the first enemy solider had caused them to explode into a paste and when Keith made contact with the ground, the entire area was met with a large explosion equivalent to a kiloton of TNT.
"Woah"
"So, this is the true power of an enforcer"
Minami and Akari stared in awe at the starry explosion, while also bracing themselves for the following shockwave that tore the area, shattering any glass that were still intact on the nearby buildings.
"This gives me an idea"
Akari grinned madly while pulling out her smartphone, flipping it horizontally and recording the battle.
"Once everything is over, I'll make a killing profit off of this."
Everyone looked at Akari with deadpanned expressions, though most were in agreement with her idea and did the same thing.
"I haven't felt like this in a long time. Maybe he'll be a good rival for me."
Mikey had a genuine smile graced on his face for once, after the many events that transpired after the invasion of the first extraterrestrial species.
'That smile...why does it seem so...familiar?'
Unbeknownst to Mikey and the crowd, Emily stared with wide eyes at the smile, almost as if she was lost in a trance.
On the other hand, Mikey had begun walking toward the remaining soldiers who charged forward.
Emily instinctively stepped forward to stop Mikey but was stunned when he had slightly turned his head, enough for only her to see and mouthed a few words.
"Just Watch"
Those golden eyes that shun like the brilliant light of a star had dimmed, the pupils begun to contract and reshape, until two numbers had replaced the arrow shaped pupils: -1, +1.
Suddenly, a flare of pitch-black energy in the shape of flames had burst forth from Mikey's body. Each step he took distorted the dimensional space around him, creating a lensing effect similar to a black hole.
Mikey's left and right arm slowly rose into the air as he continued toward the approaching soldiers. Though it came as a shock to the other's when the approaching soldiers slowed to a halt, fear evident in their posture as they watched Mikey's movements.
It was as if they knew what was coming next.
Then Mikey hands clasped together with a crisp and sharp echo, causing everyone to flinch at the sound that tore through the fighting, forcing everyone to turn his way.
The black flames that exuded from his body had wrapped around his hands and seemingly seeped through the back of his hands and into his palms.
To everyone, it looked as if Mikey was containing something within his palm, and that was the correct prediction.
"It was unfortunate that we had to cross paths."
Those last words left Mikey's mouth as if it were a prayer for the dead.
Mikey had unclasped his hands and revealed a floating spherical orb that distorted space. Then while pointing his left hand forward, he snapped his finger and silence followed after.
No one moved.
No one made a single sound.
The wind became eerily still.
Then the spherical orb vanished, though just seconds later it had appeared directly in the middle of the army, and suddenly expanded.
The remaining soldiers had been engulfed in the spherical void and erased on an atomic level, leaving behind a crater so wide that a small lake could fill the entire thing.
Mikey stood at the edge of the crater with a satisfied expression while his eyes reverted to its original state.
"N-No way..."
"He's a monster...."
"That's another kind of power"
Mikey had turned to face the unit but was met with judgmental gazes, filled with fear and unease. A subtle sigh escaped his lips, yet he ignored the gazes of those that feared him.
Though what sealed the deal was the expression on Akari's face. A disgusted expression, as if she were looking at an abomination.
"Michael Sonora. I hereby reinstate your execution."
Emily stepped forward and, in a blur, appeared in front Mikey with a steel dagger aimed at his throat.
As the blade reached closer to Mikey's throat, his eyes immediately changed, turning a golden color and replacing his pupils with arrows.
The moment Emily saw this; she attempted to retract her attack to avoid the incoming counterattack.
Though she was a bit too slow.
With a lazed wave of his hand, Emily was met with an unseen force that swept her away to the side with unparallel strength.
Thus, she had been sent through two buildings, before slamming onto the ground and skidding to a stop.
Mikey's arrow shaped pupil had then flipped directions, now pointing toward each other.
"I guess none of you can be trusted."
Then he had closed his fist while pointing toward the two other buildings that Emily had fell between.
Both buildings were then hit by an unseen force that pushed them together, while Emily had been directly in the center of it.
