Almost as if she sensed what I was thinking about Miguel, Jessica ran toward the entrance way. A moment later, she ushered Miguel into the kitchen.
He was hopping, as Jessica must have zip -tied his feet together earlier when he was unconscious. Additionally, his wrists were tied together.
She pushed him into a chair where he groggily sat down.
"Good boy," she crooned at him as if he were a dog. I flashed Miguel a sympathetic look, and he groaned.
"Looks like we're all here and cozy together," she said, satisfied.
"There's three of us, lady, and only one of you," Miguel retorted.
"But I'm the one with the gun," she reminded us.
I gave Miguel a look that told him to cool it.
A plan was formulating in my head. If I could just lure Jessica closer to me, I might be able to catch her off guard. Of course, I'd need Miguel's help, but he was right. We had the numbers.
