"I understand," I said to Marcus, grumbling into the phone. "But I thought you said the Auctioneers weren't a threat anymore? That they were all dead or in jail?"
"We just heard through some standard surveillance that mentioned Hannah's name. That she should watch her back after what you guys did," Marcus said.
"I see."
I couldn't hide my frown from Hannah. She'd have to know.
"You should probably be careful. Make sure Stan is with you. Also, it wouldn't hurt to surround yourself with some others, maybe that brother of Hannah's who's so protective. We just don't know right now what the threat is. When we have a better idea...,"
"I know," I sighed. "You'll let me know."
"I didn't want to tell you at dinner tonight, but you needed to know as soon as possible," Marcus said.
That was just like Marcus - always business.
