I met Lori at the Charity House the next day and was excited to hear all about the ending to her evening.
While I sat at my desk, she walked in, a little less put together than normal in a simple pair of black pants and a sweater.
"So?" I asked as she sat down.
"I was thinking a palette of grays and blues, but if you want it more cheery, we can do oranges..."
"Not that," I said. "Tell me about Marcus. What happened?"
"Oh, that," she said.
"What did you think I meant?" I asked as she settled herself onto a chair in front of my desk.
I could Lori's cheek turning pink. Clearly, something had happened, but Lori was slow to let any details slip.
"It's nothing," she said.
"Did you go back to your place? You're clearly blushing and a little ruffled, as if you woke up late," I accused.
I paused for her answer, but she didn't say anything. She just pulled out more swatches from her bag.
"Here," she said. "This is a warm orange. With pops of gold, I think this could look..."
