When Martin arrived, we were all a little on edge.
Lori had taken to twirling her hair around her finger, eager to see the brother she thought had been dead for years. Freddy started chomping on the ice that was in his glass, and Edward pushed the remnants of his lunch around his plate with his fork.
Geoffrey had been dispatched to help set up the guesthouse, and Roman returned to work. Unlike the others, I had already spent time with Martin. I knew it would be shocking to them as it was when I saw him, but something told me they'd all get along again in minutes.
My nervousness stemmed more from my concern that Roman and Martin might not get along. They could both be a little intense, not to mention the fact that they liked to be in charge. I was most worried that they wouldn't communicate, and that would lead to disagreements between them.
I walked around the table, my hands on my hips.
"Anyone see any good movies lately?" Freddy asked.
