I pushed open the door to the security room.
"What are you doing?" I accused Roman. "I heard you. You were planning to spy on my brother."
Roman turned to look at me, a little surprised, but he didn't give away anything on his face that suggested he felt guilty. Stan stood unemotional by the bank of security monitors.
I whisked myself into the room, and attempted to press the buttons to the screens to turn them off.
Grunting in annoyance, Roman grabbed my arm. "What are you doing?"
"You're using these to spy on people? Did you do that to me, too?" I asked.
I could feel my face tense and my skin redden. I had agreed to such advanced security measures because I believed they were all for our safety. However, hearing Roman's conversations and seeing all the screens brought back a memory from the Auction House that flashed in my brain and made me want to smash all the monitors.
