James said, "Don't bother. My mother is the only one at home. Besides, she doesn't lack anything."
"It doesn't matter whether she needs it or not. As the daughter-in-law, I can't go empty-handed for my first visit to my mother-in-law."
Yvonne looked at him and said.
James scratched the back of his head and said.
"Well, my mother likes the pastries from the cake shop on the South Street. When we pass by later, let's get her something there."
"Okay."
She nodded her head.
In the evening.
The two brought a cake to his mother's place.
"Mom, I brought Yvonne to come see you."
James shouted as soon as he entered the room.
Mrs. Taylor was in the kitchen. When she heard his voice, she immediately came out to greet them. When she saw them, her face lit up with joy.
"Yvonne, here you are."
It was the first time that Yvonne had visited Mrs. Taylor even though she knew some of her background.
