I didn't argue. Partly because he was right and partly because I didn't actually want to walk into whatever Nadia Reeves had built inside that building alone.
Silvermoon Holdings headquarters was a forty-minute drive and I spent most of it on the phone.
First call was to the Silvermoon board member Derek had reached, a cautious older wolf named Aldric who'd been on the board since Mateo's father's time.
He was scared and trying not to show it and immediately more cooperative when I told him about my shareholding.
"They're pushing for a vote at noon," he said. "Emergency shareholder meeting. Ms. Reeves's coalition is claiming financial mismanagement under the interim leadership."
"Zayn has not mismanaged anything."
"I know that. But she has documents." he paused. "Some of the other board members are wavering."
