The next morning, Ariana woke up earlier than usual.
For a moment she forgot where she was.
The soft bed, the large room, and the beautiful curtains made her realize that she was no longer in her small house.
She was in Jayden's mansion.
Ariana slowly got out of bed and looked around nervously.
"I'm really living here…" she whispered.
Remembering her job, she quickly washed up and went downstairs to start her work.
The house was huge. The living room alone looked bigger than her entire old house.
As she walked into the kitchen, a few maids looked at her curiously.
"You must be the new maid," one of them said kindly.
Ariana nodded. "Yes… I'm Ariana."
The maid smiled. "I'm Maria. Don't worry, we'll help you learn everything."
Ariana felt a little relieved.
Just then, footsteps echoed through the hallway.
Jayden walked into the kitchen.
His cold blue eyes immediately landed on Ariana.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
"So… the poor scholarship girl is now my maid," Jayden said sarcastically.
Ariana clenched her fists but stayed calm.
"I'm only here to work," she replied quietly.
Jayden stepped closer, his expression serious.
"Then remember something," he said in a cold voice.
"This is my house. Don't go into my room. Don't touch my things. And stay out of my way."
Ariana looked straight at him.
"I wasn't planning to bother you anyway."
Jayden stared at her for a few seconds, surprised by her courage.
Then he turned around and walked away.
Maria whispered, "Don't worry about him. Mr. Jayden is always like that."
But Ariana knew something was different.
The tension between them felt strange.
And deep down, she had a feeling that this house would change her life forever.
