Today is the first day of school and as usual everyone expects a new student in each class.
My name is Ann Baker. When I got to school, I discovered that we had a new student in my class. Her name is Mary Kings. Mary is a tall, slender, curvy and a very beautiful girl. We became seat mates and attended the same classes, we even wanted to study the same courses in college. I helped her copy some notes, introduced her to a lot of people in our class. I am not exactly an extrovert, I prefer solitude, but I just happen to know a lot of people, especially the seniors. Everyone was busy doing something in each class, the boys were busy doing what boys do best (which I don't know), while the girls were seen in groups chatting, I learnt that Mary left her former school, because, She was the only girl in her class, It shocked me, because I haven't heard of such before. Then because of reasons I still don't know, The girls were comparing Mary and I, which shocked me, I firmly believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, beauty cannot be compared, but others don't share the same views as me until Mary's voice broke through my train of thoughts, "Honestly, girls beauty is In the eye of the beholder, we shouldn't compare anyone, because no one is perfect, no one is above mistakes, but I still believe that Ann is very beautiful", When I heard her last comment, I thought, of course I'm beautiful, and I said "Of course I agree with you Mary, everyone is beautiful in their own little way, and I also agree that Mary is beautiful, not just Mary, but everyone here is beautiful, don't you agree girls" "Of course", the girls echoed. But our discussion was cut short when Mr Victor, the Chemistry Teacher entered the class. The first lesson was set to begin, the topic in Chemistry was Oxides and most people paid full attention to the topic. Everyone took turns answering questions when necessary, although it was mostly Mary and I, the first lesson ended, and so did the second and third.
We finished the last subject for the morning, when the hottest, baddest and most notorious play boy in our school approached Mary. "Hello, I'm Henry, may I know this beautiful lady" he then extended his hand in a gentlemanly manner. Mary blushed and placed her hand in his "Hi, my name is Mary" he then kissed her hand and then asked her "Can I get your contact info Mary", of course Mary blushed "Okay". They exchanged each other's contact information which left my mouth wide open with shock. Then Henry said "Would you be free to go out with me Saturday afternoon?",I didn't wait for Mary to respond, I answered for her, "No sorry we have plans", To my surprise Henry just smiled and said "Bye", Then he left without looking back. When Henry left I told her "Do you know who He is?", Once again she blushed "He seems like a nice guy, you shouldn't have told him no, I would like to get to know him".
"Henry is Henry for a reason", "Ann what do you mean?", "He's a player, a total jerk, sure he may be handsome, but underneath lay a devil's heart, you should stay away from him", Mary was shocked at this revelation "What?", "He never exchanges his number with a girl unless he plans to use and dump her, you guys can be friends no problem but if he asks you out tell him no, ok?","Thank you so much Ann", we hugged. "Come on let's go get something to eat", I said, "Sure". With that we left our discussion where it was,little did I know that Mary didn't listen to me at all.
She suddenly paused and looked at me "Ann will you be my best friend?" "Su...", I was about to accept when she interrupted me "You're the only girl who's been nice to me and I really want to he your bestie" "Sure, I was thinking the same thing"
"Really?!!" she exclaimed excitedly, "Really", we shared a knowing smile then headed to the cafeteria.
