CHAPTER 81 FIRST WAVE
The ground began to tremble and students suddenly gathered together. Their instincts had developed.
Normally, fear would be in their eyes, but the past week had drilled something in them.
Multiple cracks appeared all over the yellow field and bursting out of the ground, large squirrel like creatures. They had brown furs with black eyes and fangs. Their bodies were as big like a grown man.
Earth Squirrels.
These beast were known to tunnel through the ground and sometimes cause earthquakes of their numbers were immense.
They were about twenty of them in numbers with blood shot eyes staring deep within the souls of the students.
"The students who gets the most kills will receive points. No one is allowed to steal a kill, I'm watching you"
With that, Sir Brock placed his hand on Stella's shoulder and they both disappeared in flash of white light.
"So much for watching us!"
One student voiced out.
"Relax, we got this"
Another said as he summoned his spirit weapon.
"We should...."
"Out of my way!"
Billy scoffed as he shoved a student to the side.
As he made his way forward he summoned his spirit weapon.
The blue gauntlet materialized on both hands with a flash of blue sparks.
Ki surged within his fist as he dashed forward without thinking.
One of the earth squirrels launched at him with sharp claws but he evaded the attack and bashed the beasts head with metal fist.
BANG!
The squirrel's head exploded into bits as the body flew back.
"That's one way to do it "
Carl voiced out as he dashed forward
"Spread out!"
Lan ordered and every moved.
Roman watched as everyone fought against the beasts. Some worked in groups, others solo.
Somewhere even competing for points.
"Come on, let's help out"
Lunar said.
"Nahh. I'm staying here"
Roman replied and sat on the field while the others looked at him.
Roman looked at Lunar
"You know fighting lower level beasts isn't going to help me grow. So why bother?"
Roman shrugged.
"You guys can help out if you want to"
He folded his legs and began to circulate his spirit energy.
"Alright then. Been a while I saw danger beasts, gotta have some fun "
Lunar smirk and ran off.
Anya and Sarah joined.
Sylver looked at Roman and sat beside him.
"Aren't you joining?"
Roman asked.
"Nah, they got this"
She replied.
"I plan on sneaking out of the city to go hunting soon, I can't remain like this anymore"
Roman's shoulders slumped.
Roman has been stuck as a four star Beast Noble for a long time. He's patients were slowly slipping.
"I still got your back "
Slyver smiled.
Roman looked at her
"What about you, what's your excuse?"
She looked back at him
"You already have your fifth core, what's stopping you from entering the Beast Knight stage?"
He asked.
Slyver thought for a while
"I just don't want you to feel bad"
She said slowly.
"Feel bad?, come on. Like you said, you're my shield so you're supposed to be stronger. I don't wanna feel like I'm holding you back "
Roman said.
"You have to grow, I'll be right behind you of course "
He added with a smile.
"Alright"
Slyver smiled as she folded her legs and closed her eyes.
She was going to start the process of merging her five star cores together.
A growl suddenly came from behind them.
Roman tilled his head to see a earth squirrel slowly.
Roman raised a brow and lightning flashed through his eyes.
The earth squirrel suddenly paused and backed away in fright.
"You gotta talk to your relatives, Fury"
He said.
Fury let out a squeal, feeling insulted for being compared to such beast.
A few while later, the Earth Squirrels bodies filled the opened space with blood all over the field.
"That's all of them!"
Someone announced.
"Wait, he didn't even do anything"
One of the students pointed at Roman who sat down meditating with Sylver by his side.
Roman opened one eye and smiled at the students.
The smile alone sent chills down the students spine.
Billy assess the surrounding then glanced at Roman.
"Not bad for rookies!"
Sir Brock voiced out as he appeared with Miss Stella.
"Just minor injuries though "
Miss Stella added as she walked towards the injured students
"And non of you used your spirit beasts, that's good"
Sir Brock nodded.
"Some didn't even participate"
Someone muttered.
Sir Brock glanced at Roman and Sylver but chose to say nothing.
"Carve out the beast crystals and lets head to the forest"
He said.
The students proceeded.
Soon, they all head towards the beautiful forest with yellow trees.

As time went on, the first years discovered that the beautiful was filled with more dangerous and aggressive beast.
They faced multiple seams of danger beasts from basic to secondary tier.
They had to go all out with their spirit beasts when they got attacked by a gang of advanced tier beasts.
Sir Brock only stepped in when someone was halfway to death's door.
The first years all sprawled to the ground.
They had just finished another horde of advanced tier minatuars.
These were humanoid beast with muscle mass and agility.
Sir Brock had to step in multiple times cause these particular type beast showed little intelligence.
"Alright I guess this is it for today"
Sir Brock voiced out as he watched the tired students.
Not all of them were tired though, but a particular two showed no signs of fatigue at all.
Even with all the fighting and explosion happening around them, Roman and Sylver remained seated and continued meditating.
Even if a beast strayed towards them, a quick flash of red lightning was all it took to kill them in the spot.
"I'm surprised in their ability to remain calm in hot situations"
Miss Stella commented while healing a student.
Lunar, Anya and Sarah walked towards them and sat down.
"I'm sure you guys are enjoying your naps"
Lunar said.
Roman opened his eyes
"We're not napping. I'm not interested in a fight that won't benefit me, and Sylver is finally trying to merge her star cores"
Roman smiled.
"Wait really?"
Sarah asked.
Sylver opened her eyes.
"It's a lot harder than I thought"
"I even created my fourth star core recently"
Anya said.
"I'm slowly creating my fourth core"
Sarah said.
"I got my fifth core already"
Lunar shrugged.
Roman looked at him.
"Trying to get ahead of me huh?"
He smirked.
"You better climb up fast"
Lunar chuckled.
"You'll see"
"Alright!. That's enough rest, lets head back to the academy"
Sir Brock voiced out.
"I'm sure you'll have enough time to..."
"SQUEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!...."
Sir Brock suddenly paused.
Roman snapped his eyes opened.
'Fury never gave a false alarm...
Even the students jolted up.
They've heard that exact squeal from Fury.
It only meant one thing... danger.
"What now..."
Sir Brock breathed out
He turned towards a particular direction with tilled eyes.
Soon, the ground began to tremble.

The footsteps where heavy. But it wasn't just one, it sounded like multiple steps heading towards their direction.
Soon, the treeswere suddenly ripped out to clear a path for three massive figures.
Their skin was covered with black hard scales that seemed impenetrable. They were taller than two grown man put together and their muscle mass were unspoken of with larger arms, thicker than a tree trunk.
Their muscular legs were bent backwards and their face were similar to a bull with thick white horns shaped like a bident.
Black scaled Minatuars.
They were three of them, each holding double sided axe.
The Minatuars paused and looked around to see their dead lower kins.
Then they looked towards the humans and their eyes flashed deep red with heavy steam coming out their wide nostrils.
