Chapter 19 - Chapter 19“Sunshine in Every Corner”

The morning light spilled lazily into the penthouse, bathing every surface in gold. For once, the city outside seemed distant, almost irrelevant. Inside, the apartment buzzed with a different kind of energy—not alarms, not gunshots, not whispered plans—but soft, chaotic, warm life.

Hoseok yawned as he crawled out of bed, hair sticking out in every direction. His pajamas were too big, sleeves covering half of his tiny hands, but he didn't care. Today, there were no missions, no infiltrators, no fights to plan. Just… them. His family.

Namjoon was already in the kitchen, flipping pancakes with meticulous care. A small line of syrup bottles, bowls of fruit, and stacks of toast stretched across the countertop. Jungkook, still half-asleep, was perched on the counter beside him, scrolling through his phone but occasionally throwing smirks at Hoseok when he stumbled into the room.

"Good morning, baby sunshine," Namjoon said, his deep voice soft and almost teasing.

Hoseok blinked up at him, rubbing his eyes. "Mornin'…" He yawned again, covering his mouth with his tiny fist.

Taehyung appeared from behind the fridge, holding a tray of drinks. "You're up early! Did someone wake you?" he asked, setting the tray down with a flourish.

"I woke myself," Hoseok said proudly, taking a small step toward the table.

Jimin popped in next, holding a notebook. "Hobi, we need your opinion," he said, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Do we do chocolate pancakes or strawberry?"

Hoseok tilted his head, considering carefully. "Chocolate," he decided, then grinned. "Strawberry too."

The six adults around him laughed. Jin carried over a small basket of fresh muffins, Yoongi had a steaming mug of coffee in one hand and a book in the other, and even the usually stoic Yoongi allowed a small smirk as Hoseok bounced excitedly between the counter and the table.

Breakfast was a chaotic symphony of clattering dishes, laughter, spilled syrup, and playful arguments over who got the last muffin. Hoseok squealed when Jimin tried to sneak a bite from his plate, and Jungkook feigned outrage, pointing at Jimin like a miniature general.

"Hands off!" Hoseok squeaked.

"I was just…" Jimin grinned, but Hoseok's little finger jabbed him in the arm.

"Nope. Mine!"

By the time breakfast ended, syrup had somehow dribbled down the sides of the counter, Namjoon had caught Jimin trying to hide chocolate pancakes under the table, and Taehyung had accidentally spilled a drink across the floor. But Hoseok sat contentedly in the middle of the chaos, a tiny sunbeam in the center of the storm, and every adult's eyes softened.

Afternoon Snuggles

After breakfast, Hoseok demanded nap time—a request everyone immediately agreed to. He curled up on the couch with a blanket fort carefully constructed by Jungkook, Taehyung, and Jin. Jimin draped soft pillows around him, Yoongi provided the perfect ambient music playlist (soft piano and gentle rain sounds), and Namjoon sat nearby, keeping a watchful eye while pretending to read a document.

"Nap time, baby Hobi," Jungkook whispered, leaning over the edge of the blanket fort.

Hoseok yawned, his tiny face barely visible beneath the folds of the blanket. "…Don't go," he murmured softly.

"Never," Namjoon replied automatically, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead.

Taehyung, curious as ever, peeked inside the fort. "Do you want me to read a story?" he asked.

Hoseok's eyes brightened. "Yes!"

Taehyung grabbed a small picture book and began narrating in exaggerated voices for each character. Hoseok giggled, his laughter echoing through the apartment. Even Yoongi allowed himself a faint smile, sipping coffee while pretending to be engrossed in his book.

At one point, Hoseok snuggled up into Namjoon's chest, tiny hands clutching the front of his shirt. "…Soft," he murmured.

"You're my softest," Namjoon whispered, kissing the top of his head.

Jungkook leaned over the edge of the fort again, a playful grin on his face. "Are you trying to steal my lap now?"

Hoseok's tiny hand shot out to grab Jungkook's wrist. "Both," he said simply.

Taehyung laughed, "Of course. Multitasking is essential for baby mafia bosses."

Even Jin, who had been pacing nearby, stopped to watch. "I swear, he's more adorable than any of us deserve."

Playful Chaos

After nap time, Hoseok insisted on "playtime," which quickly devolved into a mix of hide-and-seek, pillow fights, and playful teasing. Jungkook tried to catch Hoseok, only for the small dancer to wriggle free with a gleeful laugh.

"Too slow!" Hoseok squealed.

"Impossible," Jungkook huffed, finally scooping Hoseok up in his arms. Hoseok buried his face in Jungkook's chest. "…Gotcha…"

Jimin joined in, tickling Hoseok's sides, making him shriek with laughter. Taehyung grabbed pillows, declaring war, while Namjoon shook his head, amusement softening his stern expression.

Yoongi leaned against the doorway, sipping his coffee. "We're dangerously close to sugar overload."

Hoseok paused mid-giggle, looking up at Yoongi. "…Not enough sugar," he said seriously.

"You're right," Jimin said immediately, grabbing a chocolate bar from the counter. Hoseok's eyes lit up.

By mid-afternoon, the living room looked like a hurricane had passed through—pillows on the floor, blankets twisted into forts, half-eaten snacks strewn everywhere. And in the center of it all, Hoseok was laughing, tiny and radiant, completely free of any fears from past chaos.

Evening Calm

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the penthouse grew quiet again. Hoseok sat on the balcony, wrapped in a blanket, watching the city lights twinkle below. Namjoon joined him, pulling him gently onto his lap.

"Did you have fun today?" Namjoon asked softly.

Hoseok nodded, leaning against his chest. "…Best day."

Jungkook came out with a small camera. "Smile, baby sunshine," he said, capturing the moment. Hoseok grinned widely, the photo immortalizing his tiny, radiant happiness.

Jimin, Taehyung, Jin, and Yoongi eventually joined them, forming a circle around Hoseok. Each placed a hand gently on him or leaned close, and Hoseok looked up at each of them with sparkling eyes.

"You all… stay?" he whispered.

"Always," Namjoon replied.

"Forever," Jungkook added.

"Yes," Yoongi said softly.

"Of course," Jimin smiled.

"Without question," Taehyung agreed.

"Always our sunshine," Jin said, pressing a kiss to the top of Hoseok's head.

Hoseok sighed happily, snuggling further into Namjoon's chest. "…Love you all," he murmured.

And in that moment, all six mafia leaders felt the overwhelming truth: no amount of danger, no rival, no infiltration could ever threaten them—not when Hoseok was at the center of their world, small and soft but infinitely strong in his love.

The chaos of the morning, the playful chaos of the day, and the quiet warmth of the evening blended into one perfect, golden memory. Their world was dangerous, unpredictable, and violent—but when they were together, it was also soft, safe, and filled with laughter.

Hoseok, their sunlight, their heart, their small but unstoppable force of joy, had reminded them all why they fought, why they protected, why they loved.

And in the golden glow of the penthouse balcony, with the city sparkling below and the six men surrounding him, Hoseok finally felt… home.
