Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 Cursed Book

NQSC was different but the same. It was just as Sunny had remembered when he grew up. It changed vastly under Changing Star's rule. The government had fallen into her command after she became Supreme, so for a while, it only saw improvements. Sunny and Cassie added many countermeasures.

This was because of the Skin Walker. Luckily, he wouldn't arrive until the Chain of the Nightmares subsided and the infected soldiers started to come back home. That was infestation would start to get worse.

That was a different threat, but it was the one that helped NQSC become safer. There should've been more defenses to begin with, but Sunny knew the truth.

The Sovereigns gave up on the waking world. It never made sense to him, but then again, he was someone chosen by fate. He had a Divine Aspect.

The way Sunny viewed the world was as different as it could get.

"Still, they are cowards, especially Ki Song." He thought to himself.

It made sense why Anvil thought the way he did. In a way, his flaw drove him into madness.

Sunny hated him, but he probably pitied him more. What could the man do? He already awakened and received a terrible flaw. It would only be a matter of time before he became a monster.

In a sense, it was inevitable that he would become a monster unless he killed himself. However, it was Ki Song who disgusted him more.

How could she, a fully functioning human, go down to Anvil's level? He had his excuse, but there was no reason for her to give up on the world.

Sunny thought about Daeron. He took thousands of Awakened and masters, most likely leaving his saints behind to protect his realm, to complete the third Nightmare. That he didn't even need to complete.

Instead, Ki Song and Anvil did the opposite. They denied progress and stopped the advancement of the world.

Pulling himself together, Sunny finally found Rain. He wouldn't be able to stay with her this time.

It pained him to leave her, but to be fairly honest, Sunny didn't even know if he was ready to restart his relationship with everyone again at zero. It was devastating, and Sunny had already been avoiding this thought.

It also took Rain around three years to awaken. Sunny couldn't afford to waste even one incarnation this time around. No, he didn't consider it a waste, but even then, he didn't want to leave her alone.

So Sunny put a lot of thought into the memory within the last month. Well, it couldn't be called a memory exactly. Between hunting Shadows in the Shadow Realm, he was dividing his attention and was pouring all the knowledge that Rain needed into a memory.

Sunny summoned it.

It was a book with a leather cover. It was stitched shut and looked deceptively small, however, Sunny knew better.

He summoned the ruins and looked at it. It was something that Rain wouldn't see until she awakened.

Memory: [Cursed Book]

Memory rank: Transcendent

Memory Tier: VII

Memory Type: Tool

While Sunny was hunting in the Shadow Realm, he sent his Shadow Cohort to hunt in Falcon Scott. They couldn't join him in the Shadow Realm, but they had an equally important mission.

He had them specifically look for and hunt down any terror, tyrant, or abomination with wicked mind powers.

Although they only found two creatures with actual mind powers since those types of creatures are incredibly rare and dangerous, it was alright since Saint was a direct counter to them.

This was a special memory because the expenditure was nonexistent. This was because this wasn't a memory. Sunny weaved out the part that it would make it summon in someone's soul sea and made it a genuine item that anyone could have, so long as they picked it up.

It was an artifact with power. He was proud of himself for such a creation.

Sunny looked at the enchantments. He put in three

Enchantment: [Knowledge Bearer]

Enchantment Description: [The longer one holds onto the book, the longer the mind deepens with the soul. With a thought, the wielder can change the size of the book.]

This was a vague description. Sunny had intended it that way. This would be the way Rain would build a relationship between the mystical sense that all awakened seemed to have.

Allowing her to eventually sense essence in her body after destroying shards. Sunny could speed up the process in the past, but he wanted Rain to be trained expertly. He could have just force-fed her shards, then helped her sense essence.

But how would that have helped her against Nightmare creatures?

Sunny estimated that if she held onto the book for a year and worked diligently, she would be able to close to awakening.

Of course, that meant training for the majority of that year.

The next enchantment was probably the most important.

Enchantment: [Writers Challenge]

Enchantment Description: [By marking your essence on the book, you will be connected to it, seeing any changes to the book written in your soul. So long as you imbue your essence and write it will appear in the book. You must will it.]

It was a long description, but essentially If Rain wrote into the book, Sunny would be aware. He would also be able to write back to her. The last enchantment was the most important.

Enchantment: [Experience Makes Perfection]

Enchantment Description: [???]

This was a tool Sunny made for Rain. She would be able to use it and reap the benefits of her past life. Sunny knew all the little mistakes she made, and with his uncanny memory, this enchantment would help her shift to the mindset she needed to adopt. Her old mindset.

Although Sunny wouldn't be able to tutor her personally, she would be guided to Awaken. At the end of the day, it wasn't Sunny's achievement, so he knew she was capable of doing it again.

Sighing, Sunny left the book in a place only Rain would find. It wasn't every day one found a book like this. So he hoped Rain would treasure it greatly.

With Serpent with him now, Sunny pulled on his anchor to the Dream Realm. He forgot this feeling, it felt nostalgic. But this would be the last time because he would be a demigod again.

In the Dream Realm, not too far from Godgrave, Sunny stood.

Sunny found himself looking at the Nameless temple once again from afar. In the future, the Nameless Temple was eviscerated by an attack at the Unholy level. It was relieving seeing his home back here.

He already picked up the tree from the outskirts and would re-plant it once he took control of the Citadel again.

Summoning Serpent into a blade, Sunny drove it into his chest. The Weaver's Mask fell onto the floor with a clatter, and a shadow remained.

In the depths of Sunny's Soul Sea, his will rejected the call of Shadow Realm, and he remained. He felt his go cores go through a tremendous change. All of his cores upgrade into Supreme Soul cores.

Using Gloomy as his main body, Sunny activated his Transcendent transformation ability. He rose from the shadows, clenching and unclenching his fists.

"Now that's a bit better."

He felt his mind and shadow sense grow way larger. However, without Weaver's lineage, he still felt incomplete.

"Ah, no matter. I still achieved Supremacy four years early."

Extremely pleased with himself, Sunny Shadow stepped into the Nameless Temple. Previously, He killed this creature with four transcendent incarnations, and his shadow cohort and he planned it expertly. Now he was a Supreme Titan with all his shadows.

Needless to say, the Great Demon was eradicated and immediately found peace within Sunny.
