Chapter 6 - 6- A new day

His heart pounded, each beat reflecting his growing fear. As he surveyed the horrifying scene before him, his mind raced with a torrent of terrifying thoughts.

"What kind of place is this, hell?" he thought silently, barely audible.

"Do others endure the same nightmare, or am I the only one being tested like this? At this rate, might I encounter a creature of such power and be forced to confront it?"

Just thinking about it filled him with despair, and being alone made it worse. He couldn't shake the feeling of being trapped in a nightmare from which he would never awaken.

Looking around, every shadow seemed to stare menacingly at him, and every rustle of the trees served as a mocking reminder of his vulnerability. He felt like helpless prey, stalked by unseen predators in a merciless world.

As he struggled to find a solution to his predicament, his thoughts spiraled into an abyss of despair. Was there any hope of escaping this cursed place, or was he doomed?

While his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of death and the constant threat of being torn apart or eaten, exhaustion weighed heavily on him from the intense focus. After all, he was only sixteen and had never experienced such mental strain from stress and concentration. His eyelids drooped with fatigue, each blink feeling like a tremendous effort.

With a heavy sigh, he wrapped his arms around himself, searching for any semblance of comfort he could find amidst the surrounding darkness and despair. He hugged his body, and his mind finally surrendered to sleep.

As consciousness slipped away, he drifted into a deep sleep, perhaps with dreams even more beautiful than this one, and his troubles faded away for the temporary respite that sleep provides.

**********

As the blood moon disappeared below the horizon, its ominous light fading, Raven awoke from his restless sleep, his eyes heavy with fatigue as they adjusted to the moonlight filtering through the trees.

He stretched his tense limbs, unable to help but feel a sense of relief at the sight of the lone moon hanging in the sky. Though its presence still carried an air of foreboding, it paled in comparison to the malevolent aura cast by its counterpart.

With a weary sigh, he forced himself to a straight position, his muscles stiff after a night of fitful sleep. He ran a hand through his disheveled hair, his mind still clouded by the remnants of the previous night's events.

"I thought I wouldn't make it another day," he sighed with relief, smiling. He had survived his first day in the tower.

He descended from his hiding place, his eyes darting cautiously as he scanned the surroundings for any sign of danger. Once he was certain the surrounding area was clear, he approached the rhinoceros-like carcass, its mutilated form a testament to the beast's power.

He drew his sword and attempted to strike the creature's armor, but to no avail. The metal remained intact, a testament to its remarkable resilience and strength.

"How powerful must that beast have been to bring down such a tough animal with a single blow?" he muttered to himself, surveying the scene before him.

With a sigh, he picked up a piece of the creature's armor, a broken horn lying nearby, and a scrap of meat that would only last him a day. After that, he would have to find his own food.

He turned away from the gruesome sight, quickly retreating, aware that the smell of the carcass could attract other hungry predators to the area.

****************

As he ran, the weight of his survival pressed down on him. He knew he needed to find a way to escape the horror of this cursed place, and the best course of action was to increase his strength.

"I want to become stronger," he whispered to himself, his voice firm against the forest's silence.

"And the only way to do that is to hunt these monsters."

Raven devised a plan. He would focus his efforts on hunting the disgusting zombie wolves that roamed the forest. Although they were among the weakest creatures he had seen so far, he knew that every kill would bring him one step closer to increasing his strength, and killing them was easy and safe. He didn't want to get injured in this place, which could end all his hopes of survival.

"Well, I hope no damn monster appears out of nowhere and ends my life."

He prayed that he wouldn't run into any powerful beasts and continued running until he came across a pack of four disgusting wolves.

"Finally, something to vent my frustration on."

...

His sword sliced through the wolves with pinpoint accuracy in every clash he had with the pack of disgusting wolves. Although the battle was long, he found himself gaining the upper hand with every passing moment. With calculated blows, he sent wolf after wolf to their deaths, his movements fluid and precise. Despite their best efforts to outnumber him, he stood firm.

When the last wolf fell to the forest floor, he stood amidst the corpses, his chest heaving with exhaustion. Though the battle had been long, he couldn't help but feel satisfied with his victory.

Then, a notification sound entered his head, and before him appeared:

"Level 3, only 50% left until Level 4." He could feel his strength rising. A determined look was on his face as he tightened his grip on the sword.

Throughout Today, he was hunting the wolves, his senses on high alert to detect any sign of danger in the forest that might threaten his life. In every encounter, he approached cautiously, his movements calculated and precise.

As the moon began to sink below the horizon

Horizon scanned the scene before him, where the carcasses of hundreds of wolves lay scattered. A wave of satisfaction washed over him as he realized he had killed so many.

"Finally, I'm done with them," he murmured to himself with satisfaction, a smile playing at the corners of his lips. Memories of his past battles flooded his mind, reminders of the countless fights he had waged on Earth. It was those experiences that had forged him into the ferocious being he was, a man driven solely by the instinct for survival.

From a young age, he possessed a natural talent for fighting. In any battle he entered, he adapted with astonishing speed, as if he were born to fight. He could sense that everything around him moved in slow motion, his talent enabling him to evade and defeat many who tried to kill him. It was this innate ability that allowed him to overcome even the toughest opponents, emerging victorious time and time again.

...

As the moon dwindled on the horizon, its light gradually fading, he decided to return to his hiding place. He knew all too well the dangers that would emerge in the forest with the appearance of the ominous second moon.

"I don't have time. I must return before it's completely dark," he muttered to himself, running swiftly through the winding paths of the forest.

The memory of the previous night terrified him, driving him to run as fast as he could. He knew that once the second moon rose into the sky, the forest would become a place of unspeakable horror, filled with nightmares beyond imagination.

On his way back to his hiding place, he couldn't shake his anxiety. Everything around him seemed to change, and the familiar landscape began to shift and distort before his eyes.

The second moon was like a terrifying ruler of this world. With every moment it rose, he felt the madness that would ensue when its ascent was complete.

Finally, he reached the large tree, then climbed to his hiding place, concealing himself completely. At that moment, the sounds of the monsters began to grow louder, followed by the sounds of destruction and deadly fighting. This was the second night he wished he wouldn't have to spend in this place.

"When will I get out of here?" he muttered to himself with a sigh. He was exhausted from thinking, but then he raised his head and looked towards the only thing that gave him a glimmer of hope for survival: the screen displayed before him.
