Chapter 7 - Red Dragon City

Even with his current strength at the Peak of Body Refinement, traveling through the wilderness was still dangerous.

There were many Tier 0 Mortal Beasts and Tier 1 Demonic Beasts living outside the cities.

Ji Tianyou did not want to take unnecessary risks.

After making the necessary preparations, he left White Rose City early in the morning.

He looked back at the city once before continuing along the road.

"I wonder when I'll return."

White Rose City had been his home for sixteen years.

He had grown up there, worked at the White Rose Alchemy Shop, and spent most of his life as an ordinary menial worker.

But now, everything had changed.

Ji Tianyou continued walking.

The road toward Red Dragon City passed through several small towns and large areas of wilderness.

During the first few days, everything went smoothly.

Whenever he encountered ordinary beasts, he simply avoided them.

If he encountered a Tier 1 Demonic Beast, he would carefully choose whether to fight or retreat.

With his current physical strength, ordinary Tier 1 Demonic Beasts were no longer a serious threat to him.

After several days of traveling, Ji Tianyou arrived at a small town.

He stopped at an inn and decided to rest for the night.

While eating, he listened to the conversations around him.

Most of the people were talking about cultivation, business, and recent events in Red Dragon City.

"Have you heard? The Red Dragon Auction House is holding a large auction next month."

"I heard there will be several cultivation techniques."

"Really? Even Qi Refinement techniques?"

"Yes. I heard there will be several Mortal-Rank techniques."

Ji Tianyou's ears immediately perked up.

Qi Refinement techniques?

He had been looking for one for a long time.

If he could obtain a technique at the auction, he would not need to join any family as a servant.

However, there was another problem.

The auction was still a month away.

Ji Tianyou did not want to waste an entire month waiting.

He finished his meal and returned to his room.

"Red Dragon City is much larger than White Rose City. There should be other ways to obtain a cultivation technique."

He decided to investigate after reaching the city.

The next morning, Ji Tianyou continued his journey.

The road became busier as he moved closer to Red Dragon City.

He began seeing more cultivators traveling along the road.

Some were riding horses, while others were riding spiritual beasts.

There were even a few carriages protected by cultivators.

Ji Tianyou quietly followed the road.

After another two days of traveling, he finally saw a massive city in the distance.

A huge red-colored wall surrounded the city.

Several towers stood above the walls, and powerful auras could occasionally be sensed from within.

Ji Tianyou stopped and looked at the city.

"So this is Red Dragon City."

It was much larger than White Rose City.

Even from a distance, he could tell that this was a completely different level of city.

Ji Tianyou adjusted his clothes and continued toward the city gate.

After paying the entrance fee, Ji Tianyou was allowed to enter Red Dragon City.

The moment he stepped inside, he immediately noticed the difference between this city and White Rose City.

The streets were much wider, and there were far more cultivators walking around.

There were also many shops selling cultivation resources, weapons, pills, beast materials, and other items.

Ji Tianyou looked around for a while before finding an inn.

He rented a simple room for a few days and placed his belongings inside.

After settling down, he went out to explore the city.

He spent the next several days visiting different shops and asking about Qi Refinement techniques.

However, most of the techniques he found were either too expensive or already reserved for members of certain cultivation families and sects.

Ji Tianyou did not give up.

Red Dragon City was much larger than White Rose City, so he believed there had to be a suitable opportunity somewhere.

During his search, he also learned more about the city.

Red Dragon City had several powerful cultivation families, many independent cultivators, and even a few sect forces nearby.

Foundation Establishment cultivators were no longer extremely rare here.

Compared to White Rose City, this place was clearly much more developed.

After spending several days exploring the city, Ji Tianyou finally found a shop that sold cultivation techniques.

He entered the shop and began looking through the techniques.

After searching for some time, he finally found what he was looking for.

A basic Mortal-Rank Qi Refinement Technique.

The price was five hundred Gold Coins.

Ji Tianyou looked at the price and frowned.

"Five hundred Gold Coins."

It was expensive, but he now had a way to earn money through the Good Fortune Return System.

He just needed to find something valuable enough to buy and return.

Ji Tianyou put the technique back.

"I'll find a way to get it."

He left the shop and continued walking through Red Dragon City.

After traveling for several days and seeing the resources available in the city, Ji Tianyou realized that he had made the right decision by leaving White Rose City.

There were far more opportunities here.

He only needed to find the right one.

Ji Tianyou soon started his usual work.

He first visited the market and looked for items that he could afford and easily sell.

Whenever he found something suitable, he bought it and then searched for someone who could use it.

After giving the item away, he waited for the system to activate.

[Ding! Gift detected.]

[Qualitative Return Activated.]

[Return Reward: High-Grade Mortal-Rank Weapon.]

Ji Tianyou stored the returned item and went to another shop to sell it.

The process was simple.

Buy an item.

Give it to someone who needed it.

Receive a higher-quality item from the system.

Sell the returned item.

Then use the money to buy another item.

Ji Tianyou repeated the process several times.

He carefully avoided using the money returned directly by the system, since he already knew that doing so could trigger the system's warning.

Instead, he used the money he earned from selling the returned items.

As his money increased, he began purchasing better items.
