Chapter 13 - Spells

Ji Tianyou left the courtyard after making sure everything was settled.

Lin Yue was already awake, and Xiao Qing was resting beside her.

"I'm going out for a while," Ji Tianyou said.

Lin Yue nodded.

"Okay, Young Master."

"I'll be back later. Continue cultivating, but don't rush your cultivation."

"I understand."

Ji Tianyou nodded and left the inn.

He walked through the streets of Red Dragon City and soon arrived at the Heavenly Pavilion.

Ji Tianyou entered the pavilion and looked around.

Since he had reached the Qi Refinement Realm, he needed some techniques that could improve his combat ability.

He walked toward the technique section.

A pavilion attendant approached him.

"Welcome, Young Master. Are you looking for a cultivation technique, martial art, or spell?"

"I'm looking for some spells and martial arts suitable for a Qi Refinement cultivator."

The attendant nodded.

"Please follow me. We have many techniques available for Qi Refinement cultivators."

Ji Tianyou followed her toward another section of the pavilion.

Rows of jade slips were displayed inside glass cabinets.

Each jade slip contained a different technique.

Ji Tianyou began looking through them carefully.

He wanted techniques that could improve his overall combat ability rather than focusing on only one aspect.

After some time, he found several techniques that caught his attention.

The first was a Fireball Technique, which allowed the user to condense spiritual energy into a ball of fire and launch it at an opponent.

The second was a Wind Step Technique, which could increase movement speed and agility.

The third was a Mountain Breaking Fist, a martial art that focused on strengthening the user's attacks with spiritual energy.

Ji Tianyou also found a defensive technique called the Spirit Shield Art.

He looked at the four jade slips.

"These should be useful."

He turned toward the attendant.

"How much are these four?"

The attendant quickly checked the prices.

"Together, they cost eighty low level spirit stones."

Ji Tianyou nodded.

"Fine. I'll take them."

He paid the required amount and stored the four jade slips.

However, he did not leave immediately.

There were still many techniques inside the Heavenly Pavilion, and Ji Tianyou wanted to see if he could find anything else worth buying.

After all, with his current cultivation, having more combat techniques would give him more options in battle.

Ji Tianyou continued looking through the techniques.

Most of the techniques available in this section were only Mortal-Rank or Earth-Rank. He wanted something stronger, but he could not find anything above the Earth Rank.

Just as he was about to leave, he noticed a jade slip placed in a separate cabinet.

He walked over and looked at it carefully.

It was a Top-Grade Earth-Rank cultivation technique called the Four Seasons Sword Art.

The technique consisted of nine layers, with each layer containing a different sword technique based on the four seasons.

Ji Tianyou picked up the jade slip and asked, "What is this?"

The attendant explained, "Young Master, this is the Four Seasons Sword Art. Unfortunately, it is incomplete."

"Incomplete?"

"Yes. The jade slip only contains the first three layers. The remaining six layers are missing."

Ji Tianyou thought for a moment before nodding.

"That's fine. I'll take it."

The attendant was slightly surprised but quickly nodded.

"Of course, Young Master."

Ji Tianyou paid for the technique and stored the jade slip.

He also purchased a suitable sword before leaving the Heavenly Pavilion.

After returning to the inn, Ji Tianyou called Lin Yue.

"Lin Yue, come here for a moment."

Lin Yue soon arrived with Xiao Qing.

Ji Tianyou handed her the incomplete Four Seasons Sword Art and the sword he had bought.

"These are for you."

Lin Yue looked at the jade slip and sword in surprise.

"For me?"

"Yes. The sword art should suit you. Start by learning the first three layers. Don't rush."

Lin Yue nodded happily.

"Thank you, Young Master."

Ji Tianyou smiled and watched her leave with the sword and jade slip.

Afterward, he focused on the returns he had received.

After gifting the incomplete Four Seasons Sword Art, the qualitative return was activated.

[Ding! Gift detected.]

[Gift: Incomplete Top-Grade Earth-Rank Four Seasons Sword Art.]

[Qualitative Return Activated.]

[Critical Return Reward: Complete Heaven-Rank Four Seasons Sword Art.]

[Additional Return Reward: Tier 2 Complete Alchemy Legacy.]

Ji Tianyou looked at the notifications with satisfaction.

The incomplete Earth-Rank sword art had been upgraded into a complete Heaven-Rank Four Seasons Sword Art.

He had also received a Tier 2 Alchemy Legacy.

Ji Tianyou stored both rewards directly in his System Inventory.

The sword produced a normal return.

[Ding! Gift detected.]

[Return Reward: Low-Grade Spirit-Rank Sword.]

Ji Tianyou stored the returned sword as well.

He then gave Lin Yue the other spells and martial arts he had purchased.

The returns were different for each technique, but none of them were as powerful as the return from the Four Seasons Sword Art.

The Fireball Technique returned as an Explosive Fireball Technique.

The Wind Step Technique returned as the Hurricane Step.

The Mountain Breaking Fist received a hundredfold return and became the Nine Mountains Shattering Fist.

The Spirit Shield Art returned as the Turtle Spirit Shield Art.

Ji Tianyou looked at the returned techniques and stored them in his System Inventory.

He then turned toward Lin Yue.

"Learn these techniques slowly. Don't try to learn everything at once. Focus on understanding each technique properly."

Lin Yue nodded.

"Okay, Young Master. I will."

Ji Tianyou nodded before returning to his own room.

Once inside, he sat down and took out the Heaven-Rank Four Seasons Sword Art.

He began studying it carefully.

The technique contained nine different sword forms, each based on the changes of the four seasons.

Although it was extremely profound, Ji Tianyou's comprehension had improved greatly after awakening the Nine Purple Suns Divine Body.

He began memorizing the first few layers and slowly understood the principles behind them.

At the same time, he also started studying the legacy as well as other techniques he had obtained.
