Ji Tianyou turned around and saw Chen Xiao running toward him.
Chen Xiao was the same person to whom he had previously given the Beast Body Art.
Chen Xiao looked excited and was breathing heavily after running.
"Brother Ji, I finally found you!"
"What happened?" Ji Tianyou asked.
Chen Xiao quickly caught his breath.
"Brother Ji, I heard some huge news. There is a Golden Core inheritance hidden inside the Moon Forest. It was apparently left behind by a powerful cultivator."
"A Golden Core inheritance?"
Ji Tianyou's expression changed slightly.
He knew how valuable such an inheritance could be.
In this world, whenever a powerful cultivator was about to die without any disciples or family members to inherit their legacy, they would sometimes leave their inheritance inside a forest, cave, or some other hidden place.
They would then wait for a suitable person to discover it.
"Where did you get this information?" Ji Tianyou asked.
Chen Xiao looked around before lowering his voice.
"It came from a wandering cultivator."
He continued explaining.
"That cultivator arrived at the city gate badly injured. He claimed that a group of bandit cultivators had attacked him and stolen his belongings."
"Before he died, he revealed that he had discovered the location of the inheritance of an elder from the Silver Blade Sect inside the Moon Forest."
"He said he had been searching for the inheritance when he was attacked by those bandits."
Chen Xiao paused.
"He looked like he was seriously injured and probably didn't have much time left."
Ji Tianyou listened carefully.
How could anyone be foolish enough to reveal information about a Golden Core inheritance?
If someone discovered such an inheritance, they would normally keep it secret and try to obtain it themselves.
However, if the cultivator really was dying, he might have revealed the information because he had no other choice.
Chen Xiao looked at Ji Tianyou.
"Brother Ji, are you interested?"
"I have just started cultivating, but you are much stronger than me. You might be able to gain something from the inheritance."
Ji Tianyou nodded.
"Indeed. I'll go and take a look."
Chen Xiao smiled.
"If you find anything good, don't forget about me."
Ji Tianyou laughed.
"Of course. If I find something useful, I'll share some of it with you."
"Then it's settled."
Chen Xiao nodded happily.
The two continued talking for a while before separating.
As Ji Tianyou walked away, a faint smile appeared on his face.
The sudden appearance of the Golden Core inheritance had given him another opportunity.
More importantly, the Moon Forest might contain many valuable treasures.
I wonder what I will get if I gift the Golden Core inheritance.
With that thought in mind, Ji Tianyou left for the Moon Forest.
The Moon Forest was a massive forest surrounding a large mountain that looked like a crescent moon. That was how the forest got its name.
However, when Ji Tianyou arrived, he saw many cultivators running into the forest.
"I guess the news spread quickly."
Seeing such a large crowd, Ji Tianyou doubted that he could still obtain the inheritance.
"Better to try than give up."
He joined the crowd and entered the forest.
Unlike the others, however, Ji Tianyou did not immediately follow the main group.
Instead, he headed toward the Moon Mountain.
From the cultivation novels he had read in his previous life, he knew that inheritances were often hidden inside caves in remote mountains.
After walking for some time, Ji Tianyou finally arrived at the Moon Mountain.
However, the place was also crowded with cultivators.
"...Tch. It really is difficult."
Ji Tianyou looked around and decided to give it a try anyway.
He searched the mountain and its surroundings for several hours, but he could not find anything useful.
Eventually, an entire day passed.
Ji Tianyou finally gave up.
"There is no need to waste any more time. With my system, I don't necessarily need an inheritance."
He turned around and left the Moon Forest.
He decided to return to his original plan.
After returning to White Rose City, Ji Tianyou bought several ordinary weapons from the market.
He then gave the weapons to different people and used the Good Fortune Return System to improve their quality.
A Low-Grade Mortal-Rank weapon could return as a higher-grade weapon, while a higher-quality weapon could return as an even more powerful one.
Ji Tianyou then sold the returned weapons.
He repeated the process several times until he had earned enough money to purchase a Qi Refinement technique.
However, another problem soon appeared.
White Rose City did not have any Qi Refinement techniques for sale.
Ji Tianyou searched several shops, but he could not find even a basic Qi Refinement technique.
"If I want a Qi Refinement technique, I might have to join the Bai Family and work as a servant just to obtain one."
Ji Tianyou frowned.
He had finally left his life as a menial worker.
He did not want to become a servant again.
"I guess it's time to leave this city."
Ji Tianyou decided to travel to Red Dragon City.
Red Dragon City was a massive cultivation city that was more than ten times larger than White Rose City.
Unlike White Rose City, Red Dragon City had Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators.
With so many stronger cultivators and better resources, Ji Tianyou believed that he should be able to find a suitable Qi Refinement technique there.
"I should be able to find what I need in Red Dragon City."
With that decision made, Ji Tianyou began preparing for his journey.
Ji Tianyou spent the next few days preparing for his journey.
He bought some food, water, and other basic supplies.
He also purchased a simple map showing the route from White Rose City to Red Dragon City.
The journey was not short.
