Chapter 6 - 6

I opened my eyes and saw a forest.

"Jarvis, where am I?"

Strange, the system had never failed me before. Okay, let's take a look around. A small clearing in the middle of the forest, covered with grass, blue sky above my head. Nothing unusual. I felt that something was wrong, but I couldn't figure out what.

"Calm down, you're just asleep," a voice said behind me.

Turning around, I saw someone coming out from behind a tree.

"Well, hello, did you miss me?" I said.

"Aren't you glad to see me?""Shiro, last time I saw you, I found out that I was dead...

"Okay, okay, you're right, but now I'm here on business," "The thing is, you didn't end up in this world by accident.

"How unexpected," my words dripped with sarcasm, "I thought I was really going on a fun holiday."

"Well, okay, I took advantage of the situation. Would you have turned down a second chance?" he said with a smile.

"Let's get on with your quest..."

He snapped his fingers and a couple of chairs and a table with tea appeared. We sat down, Shiro took a cup, took a sip, apparently thinking about something, and began.

"The thing is, this world has problems, big ones. You've already noticed the magic here.

"Well, in short, I understand that something is preventing people from using magic normally.

"That's the problem... your task is to find out what's going on.

"Any clues?

"There are no clues. I simply cannot interfere so seriously in the fate of this world. Even getting you here was a problem. It's enough that I was able to give you a few bonuses.

"Well, that's nice, but why should I solve this problem?

"There's no point, but then you'll live here for about 10 years...

"I don't understand," I said, less relaxed.

"Because this world will explode from the amount of free and unpurified mana. The current mages can't use even a hundredth of the power that the mages of ancient times had, and all because they spend too little mana, so they don't let it pass through them and don't purify it. And it's your job to solve this problem if you want to live a little longer.

I knew it wouldn't be that simple, first a gift in the form of Voldi's soul, then Pokemon. Another headache, against which Voldi and Dambi look like mere trifles.

"Is that all?

"What do you mean, that's all?" he smiled slyly, "The system isn't spoiling you with quests, so I'll throw in a couple more to make life a little less sweet." He stood up and started walking towards the forest. "Oh, and if I were you, I'd pay attention to the behaviour of your adoptive family and look for allies.

He walked over to the nearest tree, snapped his fingers, and I opened my eyes again. This time, it was the ceiling of my room in the yew tree.

"Jarvis?"

...I'm listening, Harry...

"Are there any new quests?"

...Yes, shall I show you the list?

"Go ahead."

Well, it could have been worse. But I still don't understand how to level up, as I haven't seen any quests from the "Take a shower and get 100 experience" series, and I don't even know where the experience bar is.

...I can display the experience scale, and the formula "level number" * 100 is used to get levels...

"So to get level 3, I need 500 experience?" (I'LL WRITE IT HERE! I'm sick of getting error notifications in this place, 200 experience for 2 + 300 experience for 3)

...Yes...

Okay, that's sorted, I glanced at the time, the hands showed 5 a.m. There's time before everyone wakes up, so let's do what all the other users of the system are doing. Level up what I can level up on my own. I focused my gaze on the bedside table.

The nightstand was a simple wooden nightstand.

Notebook - a notebook for taking notes

...Rating +1 level...

Hmm, pretty simple. But as it turned out, each new level requires more and more items. In the end, to reach level 20, I had to rummage through the entire nightstand, wardrobe, desk, and basically try to examine every little thing in the room. Now I have a more interesting idea. I read somewhere about how the main character passed his power through an object and received information about its structure and so on. I went back to the same bedside table, put my hand on it and tried to run my mana through it. After a couple of seconds, I began to feel the outline of the table, as if I were touching it from all sides.

...Skill "Magical Touch Level 1" created...

Just perfect, let's go for another round of inspecting the room... Well, it wasn't too difficult to reach level 20 here, just time-consuming. The skill used very little mana, and I have a huge mana regeneration, so there were no problems with that. But I began to feel objects much more clearly and gradually understand how they were constructed. All this took me 3 hours. I had a few more ideas for similar skills, but my aunt woke up and breakfast will be ready soon, so it's time to take a shower and find out what my guardians have decided. Although I think I should first take Shiro's advice and take a closer look at the Dursleys.
