Chapter 12 - 12

The move went smoothly. I asked the Knizlovs to pour the potion near Mrs. Figg's bed, and they did a great job. The house was sold in just a couple of days for the minimum price. A few hours later, the movers packed everything and left. My aunt was practically crying when we said goodbye, but she understood that there was no other way out and that I was clearly not all-powerful (at least not yet). They got into a taxi and left. They decided to go to America, mainly because they knew the language, and also because Valpurga, an acquaintance, was there to help with all the paperwork. I immediately called the Knizlovs, went through the same procedure with them as I had with my aunt and uncle, and they rushed away, saying they would find a way to repay me for my help. Then Kreacher appeared and transported me to Grimmo.

A couple of days later, we decided to start dealing with my problems and went to Gringotts. No spells could be cast on me, so I used my poor invisibility. Why poor? Because I simply became invisible, but it didn't hide my scent or temperature, let alone my "aura". It was useful against Muggles, but not against good wizards, but it would have to do for lack of anything better. We decided to explore Diagon Alley later, so we took advantage of the Black family's resources, or more precisely, the fireplace in the bank, which only a select few could use. Walpurga approached one of the goblins and said quietly:

"We need a representative of the Potter family.

"Wait a moment.

After about five minutes, another goblin came out.

"Hookfang at your service. Why does a representative of the Black family require a representative of the Potter family?

"This is not a conversation for prying ears, Mr. Hookfang.

"Very well, follow me.We went through the passage behind the counters and down the stairs. There were many different doors on either side, and we stopped at one of them. Hookhand went in first and motioned for Walpurgis to go in, then looked at me, waiting for me to follow. So much for invisibility.

"So, Mrs. Black, what brings you here?

"I am Harry Potter's official guardian and I want to sort out his family affairs," the goblin's jaw dropped.

"But... but Albus Dumbledore is Mr. Harry Potter's guardian.

"Do you have official confirmation of this? For example, official documents from the Ministry?

"

"Here you are," Valpurga placed a rolled-up parchment on the table, "take a look."

The funny thing is, our "light wizard" didn't even bother to draw up any documents to confirm his guardianship, he just presented everyone with a fait accompli, because no one would question the words of a great wizard. Walpurga found out about this by chance while making inquiries and, with my permission, quickly arranged for guardianship. A couple of minutes later, the goblin rolled up the scroll and looked at me.

"I take it that the boy under the strange spell of invisibility is Mr. Potter?

"You're right," I said, removing the invisibility spell.

"Good, but do you mind if we check?" I glanced at Valpurga.

"No objection," she said.

Hookfang wrote something down in his notebook, and a minute later a goblin entered with a strange bowl.

"This is a standard procedure that reveals the name of the person who drops blood into the cup.

I climbed onto a chair, took a needle, pricked my finger, and a couple of drops of blood fell into the cup. Almost immediately, the bottom of the bowl lit up and a piece of parchment appeared.

Harry James Potter.

"Is there any ritual that can reveal more information? For example, about my ancestors, family gifts, and so on?

"Of course there is, Mr. Potter, but it's more complicated and costs money.

"I want to perform such a ritual.

"Very well, Mr. Potter, follow me.

We stood up and followed him. At the end of the corridor was a staircase, and behind it was a trolley just like the ones in the films. We got on it and rode down a long tunnel. At the end, the trolley stopped and we found ourselves at a fork. Getting out of the cart, we went into the right corridor and found a huge hall with something like a ritual circle in the centre. I was told to strip to the waist and lie down in the centre of it on a small rectangular stone. I wondered if the ritual would work on me. The goblin approached me and took out a knife, which appeared to be ritualistic.

"Be patient," he said and carefully began to draw several symbols on my chest. It didn't hurt, but it was rather unpleasant. Then he stepped back to the edge of the circle, placed his hand on a tall stone and muttered something.

...Body scan in progress, proceed?

"No."

"You can get up," said the hook-handed man after a couple of minutes.

I approached them, and the goblin, his eyes wide with shock, handed me a parchment.

Harry James Potter

Heir to the Potter family (Last living heir, through his father)

Heir to the Peverell family (Last living heir, through his father)

Heir to the House of Slytherin (Last living heir, through his father)

Heir to the House of Gryffindor (Last living heir capable of inheriting the house, through his mother)

Can accept the Potter, Peverell, Slytherin, and Gryffindor family names (with the permission of the second heir)

Possibility of receiving ancestral gifts after accepting the family

Father: James Potter, deceased

Mother: Lily Potter (Evans), deceased

Magical godfather Sirius Black, imprisoned

Official guardian: Walpurga Black (chosen by Harry James Potter)

"Interesting, so I can take over the family right now?

"You can, but it will kill you. It requires an enormous amount of magic," said the goblin, still in shock.

"No problem, let's try. I'm not particularly interested in them, I just want to see what useful information I can get.

"But... but... Lady Valpurga, you are Mr Potter's guardian, explain to him, he doesn't understand that he will die because of his age.

"I doubt he doesn't understand, and I doubt anything will happen to him.

"Well, apparently you don't care much — the goblin slumped down — we need time to prepare, come back tomorrow.

"And prepare the documents right away, about the financial status of the family, real estate, and so on. And are there any rituals that can summon ancestral artefacts if they are lost or stolen?

"There are such rituals, but they take a long time to prepare and there's no guarantee they'll work, plus they're extremely expensive.

"Prepare all the rituals you have. I need the artefacts of the Peverell family.
