Chapter 20 - Chapter- 20

Wouldn't it decrease the numbers naturally, and increase his chances of killing others in a single ruthless move?

After all, he was a killer, and that was exactly what he mastered at.

Slaughtering weak creatures, finding prey at sight, and killing them in one strike.

Plus, it would also make him strong enough to hunt Blake and others like him, so why not?

There was no demerit in this plan and only thousands merits. Even if others realized what he was doing, could they stop him? Could they do something against him? Could they gather together to resist him?

The answer was simple: no.

Why?

Because of the clock, which was hung in the air, decreasing with each passing moment.

Telling everyone that the end was near, their end, the end of the thousand humans who were on this terrible island, and no one wanted to die here, at least, no predator wanted to.

There was a reason why everyone was going around killing crazily, hunting each other ruthlessly, making each other bait, just to survive one more second, showing their true humanity, showing what humans could do when there were no cameras, no government, no rules, and no regulations.

This was the survival of the fittest, and since millennia, there was one race that had survived in the Blue Planet, and that was humanity, and things won't change even here in this new place, new world.

Humanity would survive like roaches and then rise like hunters they were born to be, and he, Mark, was one of such humans, and right now he wanted to hunt, hunt the weak humans and then see others hunt each other.

But before he could start hunting his new prey on the other side of the island, he heard an alarm ringing from the sky.

The alarm was deafening, so loud that it nearly made Mark's ears ring dizzy, when suddenly he felt the entire island trembling.

It was a small tremble at first, but slowly the speed rose as in no time the entire island was quaking such that it made the very land on which humans and other creatures were walking tear from the middle.

Crumbling into pieces, the island separated right in front of Mark's eyes, making him run inside the shadow, rush towards whatever land he could find, as he simply couldn't understand what was really happening.

After all, they still had 18 hours left to fight and kill, so why was the island crumbling into pieces, but as if giving him the answer, the next second the trembling stopped, the tearing stopped, as Mark saw water rushing from everywhere, filling the gaps.

The same water which had the power to burn anyone alive, turn them into crispy meats, as in sky he saw the number falling directly from 492 to 419, directly slaughtering 73 people, some of these people were even predators that he had left in the east side of the island, as he saw the butler in the sky slapping his forehead as if remembering something.

"My mistake, human fellas, I forgot to add one small teeny tiny detail in the beginning, that is, every 6 hours this slumbering island will show its wrath, crumble itself, until nothing remains, or maybe barely something remains, as slowly it would be submerged into this endless sea forever, in pieces."

"So knowing this, maybe, maybe you may want to increase the speed and not take any chances, as every second here can be life and death."

"With this, all the rules have been specified; nothing remains, so enjoy killing."

With that, the butler with a smiling face was done speaking, and remained standing just like before, as if he did not even exist, giving an illusion that whatever had just happened, and whatever the bullshit that was just spoken, never happened.

Yet it did happen, and it did kill 73 humans.

As looking at the map, Mark saw the island that was pieced into two parts previously, now separated into sixteen parts, looking like a pizza and its slices.

As if decreasing the area, so that humans could forcefully come into contact with each other.

Separating stronger predators and weaker prey in equal shares.

Telling them to fight or die, and removing all the useless areas and hiding places.

And in one of these areas, Mark was present, but as a predator and not as a prey, and without wasting his time, he ran towards his first victim, but this time he did not care whether what came in his sight was prey or predator, cuz now he needed to kill them all, and kill them quickly and efficiently.

Cuz as Mr. Butler said, maybe, just maybe, they needed to fight and kill each other to hurriedly get the result, then to wait till the end to see what would happen.

As soon, he reached his prey, who was also waiting for him.

From 100 meters away, he could see his prey standing still, as if looking at something or for something, just to see nothing appear.

As like a storm, he hit the man, running towards him at his full speed, and within a second, he was beneath the man's feet, as opening his mouth, he lunged, taking his entire feet in his mouth and bit hard to shake his head from the shadow, making the man's entire body wobble crazily in the air.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...….

The man screamed so hard and in so much pain that it made half of the forest tremble in fear.

As he did not even had the chance to finish his scream when Mark lunged at his face and bit, throwing him at the ground, and like a melon, his entire face was bitten, snapped open, as his flesh, blood, and brain matter filled Mark's mouth, making him chew.

While a notification rang in his brain, telling him that the man was now deader than dead.

[Killer gift activated, permanently stealing 0.1 Strength stat.]

This was the third time Mark was eating a human face and brain. The first two were Blake's subordinates, yet this all felt so natural to him, and the taste was so delicious that it was addictive.

It was like he was eating his favorite fried chicken with different sauces, as chewing, he ran towards his next prey.
