The moment he turned it on, the screen lit up with notification after notification, followed by a steady stream of messages and missed calls that had accumulated throughout the night. He ignored most of them for the moment and immediately dialed Dante's number, knowing there were more important things that needed to be handled first.

"Good morning, Chief," Dante answered almost immediately.
"Morning," Santiago replied his voice low. He glanced toward Daniella, who was still resting peacefully before continuing, "I want you to arrange enough food for breakfast for everyone. Make sure there are several portions of porridge and soup as well." He knew both families had remained at the hospital throughout the entire night, carrying the weight of uncertainty and fear, and he did not want them sitting there hungry after everything they had endured.
