"I'm fine, doctor" Daniella answered, her voice low.
"That's good," Elias murmured, nodding as he looked her over. He then turned his attention to the nurses, who immediately began checking her vital signs, taking her temperature, blood pressure, pulse and oxygen levels while another nurse prepared everything needed for the morning assessments.
Once the initial observations were completed, they drew another blood sample for repeat laboratory tests so the doctors could continue monitoring her blood count and make sure there had been no further complications during the night.
Santiago remained beside the bed throughout the process, watching quietly as the nurses worked while Daniella lay still, slowly beginning to understand that she had truly made it through the worst of the night.
