Great Ape Vegeta was in no hurry to kill Goku. He was enjoying the thrill of the chase.
Every swing of his massive palm created a destructive hurricane, sending Goku flying through piles of rubble like a ball.
"What's wrong, Kakarot? Where did that aura from earlier go?"
Vegeta laughed wildly as he shattered the rock wall protecting Goku with a single kick.
"After transforming into this form, my combat power increases tenfold! This is the ultimate weapon the Saiyans used to conquer countless planets!"
"You weak creatures can only tremble in fear before dying miserably!"
Goku crawled out of the rubble in terrible condition.
His Turtle School gi was torn apart, and blood ran down his forehead, blurring his vision.
He looked up at the Great Ape blocking out the sky and stared into those crimson eyes.
Suddenly, a long-buried memory flashed through his mind.
The full moon.
A giant monster.
Destroyed houses.
And... Grandpa.
Goku's pupils shrank as his heart tightened painfully.
"Mon... monster..." His voice trembled.
"Grandpa... Grandpa was crushed by a monster... it was the night of the full moon..."
He had always believed his grandfather had been killed by some unknown beast.
Because he had fallen asleep that night and remembered nothing.
But now, seeing Vegeta's tail and this transformation under the full moon, everything became clear.
There had been no other monster.
The monster that night had been him.
"It... it was me?" Goku's legs gave out as he dropped to his knees, tears filling his eyes.
"So the one who killed Grandpa... was me?"
Guilt overwhelmed him completely.
That kind old man who raised him and taught him martial arts had died by his own hands while he was out of control.
"Hahahaha! Judging by your expression, it looks like you remembered something interesting," Vegeta noticed the change immediately and mocked him cruelly.
"So you transformed before too. Tell me, how does it feel to kill your own family with your own hands? Isn't it wonderful?"
"Shut up!" Goku raised his head sharply, rage burning away his tears.
"I'll never forgive you... and I'll never forgive myself!"
He forced himself to stand again.
His weakened aura began burning once more.
But now it carried something beyond battle intent.
It carried resolve.
"Everyone... run!" Goku did not turn around, but his voice echoed across the battlefield.
"Krillin! Take Gohan! Take Trunks! Take everyone and run as far as you can!"
"Goku? What are you saying?" Tien Shinhan shouted from a distance.
"I'll hold him back!" Goku clenched his fists until his nails cut into his palms.
"I don't have the strength to defeat him anymore, but I can still stall him! This is a sin I committed as a Saiyan, and I have to take responsibility for it!"
He prepared to force his body beyond its limits again with Kaioken.
Even if his body collapsed.
Even if they died together.
He would not let this monster harm anyone else.
Just like his grandfather had protected him.
"Don't be stupid, Goku! You'll die!" Yamcha shouted desperately.
"Just go!"
Goku roared as the unstable red aura around him began to spiral wildly, showing that his body was close to collapse.
At that moment, a warm hand rested gently on his shoulder.
The hand was not large, and it felt slightly rough, but it carried steady strength.
Under that touch, the unstable red aura around Goku calmed immediately.
"Alright, stop acting like this is some tragic farewell."
A familiar relaxed voice sounded beside him.
Goku turned in shock and saw Krillin's shining bald head glowing under the artificial full moon.
"Kri... Krillin?"
Krillin stood calmly beside him with one hand still in his pocket.
"This is Earth, not a stage for dramatic sacrifices," Krillin smiled slightly.
"Besides, if I let you play the hero alone, how will I explain it to Gohan later as his godfather?"
"But Krillin! That guy has a combat power of 180,000 right now!" Goku said as he grabbed Krillin's arm.
"Even with your special physique, it's impossible!"
"It's only 180,000. Is that supposed to be impressive?" Krillin said as he looked up at the approaching Great Ape.
"It's just a slightly bigger monkey."
[Ding! Host detected facing extreme combat power disparity (surface data).]

[Mission Objective: Beat Vegeta back into human form and give him a physical lecture.]

The System panel flashed before Krillin's eyes.
He gently pushed Goku aside and stepped forward alone.
As he took that step, the violent winds suddenly stopped.
"Hey, you oversized monkey," Krillin placed his hands on his hips and shouted toward Vegeta.
"I don't mind evolution going backward once in a while, but transforming in public and throwing mountains around is a serious violation of civic responsibility."
Great Ape Vegeta froze briefly, then burst into thunderous laughter.
"Hahahaha! I really don't understand where a bald guy like you gets this confidence!"
Vegeta lowered his enormous head toward Krillin. The hot breath from his nostrils was strong enough to flip a truck.
"What is it? Are you in a hurry to die? Or are you planning to beg for mercy with some tricks?"
"No."
Krillin shook his head as the playful expression on his face disappeared.
He slowly raised his right hand.
"I just think you broke the rules."
His voice was calm but echoed clearly across the battlefield.
"So..."
Krillin's eyes suddenly changed.
His pupils turned completely golden.
A sacred yet terrifying aura exploded from his body.
"Mistakes need correction."
A pillar of golden-red light shot into the sky from Krillin's body, piercing through the clouds and overpowering even the artificial moonlight.
The entire East City trembled violently.
Rubble floated in the air as gravity itself became unstable.

"What kind of energy is this?"
In the distance, Piccolo's legs gave out as he dropped to one knee.
It felt like he was facing a god from ancient mythology rather than a human.
Krillin's energy carried both the violent heat of Kaioken and a vast, calm presence that seemed to overlook all living beings.
Two completely opposite forces existed together perfectly.
The pillar of light faded.
Krillin remained standing in the same place.
But his appearance had completely changed.
Golden patterns flowed across his skin like liquid light.
A halo formed from condensed energy floated slowly behind his head.
At the same time, a deep red Kaioken aura surrounded his body like blazing fire.
Red fury.
Golden divinity.
At this moment, Krillin looked like a Red Lotus Saint Buddha standing within burning karma flames.

His instincts screamed danger.
The tiny figure before him felt more terrifying than a black hole.
"You... what are you?" Vegeta roared.
Krillin slowly floated upward until he reached the same height as Vegeta's eyes.
He pressed his palms together slightly and spoke calmly.
"This humble monk, Krillin, has come to send you on your way, benefactor."
