They had just watched the elder sister cry so sadly and thought her child had been kidnapped and she needed ninja help to rescue them.
They never expected it was just a missing cat.
Naruto froze briefly, then pointed at the plump elder sister and shouted, "Hey, you—"
Before Naruto could finish speaking, Sakura Haruno covered his mouth and punched him several times in the stomach.
She glared at him angrily and scolded, "Naruto, this is our client! Watch your words!"
It was her first mission, and she did not want anything to go wrong.
"I'm so sorry, so sorry," Sakura Haruno apologized as she dragged Naruto with her.
Naruto looked at Sakura Haruno with a wronged expression and said tearfully, "Sakura-chan, I didn't even say anything yet."
"Naruto, shut up!" Sakura Haruno glared at him.
Renji casually looked at the photo of the white cat and said with mild annoyance.
"Don't cry so sadly. I think your cat is quite promiscuous. It probably ran off to mate with stray cats and will come home after it's finished."
"Next mission," Renji said as he tossed the photo aside.
"Teacher Renji!" Sakura Haruno glared at him in frustration.
Hokage-sama was still present, and Teacher Renji was being far too casual.
"What nonsense are you saying? My child is very obedient. How could it possibly do such a thing!" the plump woman shouted angrily as she slammed the table and glared at Renji.
Renji calmly unwrapped a lollipop and placed it into his mouth before replying casually.
"Who can say for sure about libido? Maybe your child has a wild side. By the time you find out, it might already come back with a few stray kittens."
He had no interest in searching for some stupid cat.
He would rather spend that time with beautiful women.
"You... you," the plump woman trembled with anger as she pointed at Renji before turning toward Hiruzen Sarutobi and complaining.
"Hokage-sama, what kind of attitude is this from him!"
"Renji, stop messing around!" Hiruzen Sarutobi frowned slightly.
He also had a headache.
He should have assigned this cat-finding mission to another team.
With Renji's personality, how could he possibly accept a cat-finding mission?
Renji turned his head and looked at Hiruzen Sarutobi indifferently as he said coldly, "Old man Third, who's messing around here? What do you take ninja for?"
He possessed Six Paths Power and was being asked to lead a team to find a cat.
"I'm going to report you to the Daimyo! And I even prepared the reward for this mission!"
The plump woman shouted angrily as she grabbed the money bag beside her and stormed toward the exit.
"Wait," Renji said as he stopped her.
"What?" the plump woman asked warily.
"Is that whole bag of money the reward?" Renji asked as he glanced at the large bag of gold coins in her hand.
The bag contained not paper money but a full sack of gold coins.
Converted into paper money, it was worth at least one hundred thousand ryo.
"So what if it is!" the plump woman replied irritably.
She was the cousin of the Land of Fire Daimyo and her family was extremely wealthy.
"Oh, now that I look closely, this cat is quite cute," Renji said as his attitude instantly changed.
He picked up the photo again and stroked his chin while pretending to carefully examine the creamy white kitten.
Renji grabbed the money bag, weighed it in his hand, then placed his hand on the plump woman's shoulder and comforted her.
"I also love small animals and completely understand how you feel about your lost cat. As ninja, we have a duty to help those in need. You can rest assured and leave this little darling to us."
Since there was money involved, everything naturally became negotiable.
Although he disliked searching for cats and dogs, the payment was simply too generous.
Renji's daily expenses were high, so the more money the better.
Team 7 stood there completely speechless.
The plump woman was also stunned.
Her mouth opened slightly, but she could not say anything as she silently watched Renji lead Team 7 out of the office.
