Chapter 13 - Ch.13. Out of Patience

Ivvy looked elegant; rumour had it that after losing the game to Black Rock, she broke up with him to be with the new team captain. Her taste for success was on the high side, and that eventually broke him, giving the entity room to torment him. What Alex wondered was how on earth she was so concerned afterward; she even came bearing flowers. They advanced forward, Alex eyes moved from the opened patient ward to the people which he didn't want to have a conversation with. When they had gotten closer, Ivvy looked at him with disgust; her first words were not entertaining. "Why is a dumb soul like you looking for Jake?" She said mockingly as the others behind her giggled scornfully.

For the first time he was bold enough to stand against the elites, he looked at her straight in the eye. "Like you ever cared for anything but yourself." He replied arrogantly. She was shocked just like the others; they never expected him to speak back rather than walk away in shame.

"What did you say?" She asked, her expression was furious, but he didn't care one bit. He had seen enough of their arrogance for almost half a term. "Jolie died because of you all," He started "now, Jake is dead and missing."

Their eyes shone in horror; they pushed him out of the way trying to force their way into the small entrance. They stared at an empty room with scattered furniture and broken glasses, one of the elites left the room to call for help as Alex was unmoved by the effort to bring life to a dead situation. In a few seconds three staff in light grey uniform arrived at the scene, seeing the state of his room. Security was immediately alerted.

The security had the hall cleared looking for Jake in the wreckage, Ivvy gave Alex a cold harsh star, she shouted in hurt. "What did you do to him you freak?" She cursed as she advanced to hit him but was restrained by the others. Alex was confused whether she was putting up a show because she was the exact person who put him there. Her words hurt him really bad; he was only trying to help the school despite their attitude towards him. The entire hospital went on search looking for Jake while the rest of them had been taken to the waiting room pending on the time the school authority cleared them. One of the security officers returned with bad news.

"We couldn't find your friend," he said. "We found this letter belong to someone called Ivvy"

Ivvy indicated and reached out for the letter, she opened it and it read 'you caused this. He was right; Jake was dead.

Adam was driving home in his new car he purchased after a huge promotion when he received a call from the school that Alex and a few students were involved in a case that may have concerned the disappearance of Jake in the hospital, he was asked to come to the hospital. Adam cursed under his breath, he just knew Alex would attempt to stop death from coming. His only fear was Alex not snapping and revealing he was the catalyst.

He turned the car around in a quick swerve; the tire screeched, then drove back to the hospital. While driving he almost hit a lady. He apologised and realized it was Emma. "Perfect timing, Alex is in trouble, Jake is missing." He informed her.

"I am going to get him from the hospital."

She turned to the passenger seat and they drove off.

Back at the hospital, principal Dawson drove and cleared her student, the elites for sure leaving Alex. He was not in uniform, and she immediately denied him. Alex regretted ever trying to help or prevent the entity from taking Jake. His school hated him for not being able to meet its ridiculous standards, he had been thought toward releasing the entity and he had every confirmation to do It. While dealing with the hurt, Adam and Emma came to the waiting room. Emma hugged him warmly; Adam was still clearing up with the nurse at the reception. "Are you okay?" She asked really concerned. He nodded in response; at least it was better than silent treatment. Adam finally came in; he looked exhausted. "What happened? Are you okay?" He asked.

"She was here," he said in anger looking down "the principal and denied me being her student while she claimed her elites."

Both Adam and Emma were upset to hear that, Adam finally took a seat, he was silent for a while. He reached out for his phone and left the waiting room. Emma held him close to her shoulder. They could hear Adam's voice really pissed over the phone with someone.

"You will be okay." Emma assured him.

Alex was quiet every crazy thought he once rejected started to make sense. Adam came back, his face lit up a bit. "I just called the Mayor's office," He said, "I would be in school tomorrow, let's get pizza, I'm starving."

They left the hospital, the evening sky was fast approaching, they hit the road arriving at Pizza Hut, one of the best pizza places. It was not long that social media had the news circulated that Jake was missing but not confirmed dead. Emma brought up different topics to help him forget about the whole thing, he was laughing at some point, it helped him ease the pain. Adam watched how delicate her relationship was to him and wished he had met her sooner. If he knew Alex had made up his mind to punish TownPort High.

Alex eyes caught the original copy of the 1995 Mystery popping out of Emma's bag. He reached for it. He felt the book brush against his skin; a page fell off. He picked it up to the fallen page which was not part of the book; it had something written on it with a photograph. 'To Emma, the only surviving girl in the 95' mystery'

He looked closely at the photograph, and it looked a lot like Emma was just younger. He was in disbelief; Emma experienced the 1995 incident.
