Night had fallen, and the city lights glittered like stars brought down to earth.
Li Wei arrived at the bar where he worked part-time. Loud music vibrated through the walls, and the air carried the mixed scent of perfume and alcohol. After changing into his uniform, he had barely stepped onto the floor when the manager rushed over.
"Li Wei, VIP Room 7. Deliver these drinks. Be careful — the guest inside is important."
Li Wei nodded and took the tray.

She looked at him with slight amusement. "Your manager?"
She took out her phone and made a call. After speaking briefly, she handed the phone to Li Wei.
"Talk."
Li Wei hesitated but answered. "Hello?"
His manager's voice came through, nervous and hurried.
"Li Wei! Don't work tonight. Just drink with the guest! Do whatever she says! If you refuse, don't come back to work!"
The call ended.
Li Wei returned the phone.
The woman in red smiled faintly. "Now you can drink with me, right?"
Before he could respond—
