Chapter 2 - Chapter Two, Panic

As people saw the screen, people were thrown into panic and confusion. No one liked not knowing what was happening.

While no one had known what was happening since the wave of energy hit. Now they were thrown into deeper unknowns.

Everyone had questions that they wanted answers to. Yet people were too shocked and confused to immediately speak them out.

Especially with the illusory screen hanging in front of them. Yet the screen started to flicker, then it disappeared.

Its blue background, and white words had suddenly disappeared. With no trace of them ever being there.

This had caused the group to fall into deeper fear. Although they didn't know the screen had acted as an anchor for their fear.

Then as the screen disappeared the plane broke out into chaos. As no one knew anything about their situation, and were filled with fear.

People on the plane started to scream and cry, while some went fully crazy. As some of the crazy few went and ripped out chairs, breaking windows, destroying the plane.

Although Alex was also in fear and confusion he was not running around the plan in chaos. Instead he was banging his head against the chair in front of him, while his hands were grasping on his head grasping his hair.

While a single girl was the only one staying calm. She did not react to the people around here, yet she also did nothing to stop them.

Instead she just watched the people around her. Unfazed and unmoving, just observing, or maybe waiting.

Alex was still in fear, banging his head against the leather chair. Yet he was thinking, trying to find what to do.

Then he came to a realization nothing was going to happen if he kept banging his head against the chair. As his hands slowly loosened on his head.

He then started thinking without the constant pain. Trying to find what to do to find out what was happening.

Except first he needed to calm down the passengers of the plane. As their franticness wasn't allowing him to think.

Then an idea popped into Alex's head, from out of nowhere Alex suddenly had a great idea. He was going to try and host a meeting with the passengers.

This would not only help to calm them down, but he also might be able to learn some things. Yet Alex didn't know how he would calm them down to listen to him.

Could I tell? Probably not. Hmmm. Maybe I could get their attention. But how would I. What if I threaten them? They're all unknowing, as shown by their chaos. Should I say that I have the power to stop it. No, that wouldn't go too well.

Alex brainstormed through ways to get the group's attention. Yet he couldn't find a perfect way to do it.

Every way he thought of either wouldn't work or had a major downside. Until finally he figured out how he would get their attention.

I must get a weapon, then I'll threaten them. It should give me enough of an advantage while discussing, or rather convincing.

Alex had now found what he needed to do in order to start a meeting. Except he still needed to find a weapon.

Many things qualified as a weapon, as long as they could kill a living being. So Alex just needed to find something sharp.

Then he noticed something momentarily blind him. It was a reflection of the sun, bouncing off a broken piece of glass.

Except it was sharp, with rigid edges and a sharp tip. It was also relatively long and slim.

Alex then quickly made his way over to the shard of glass. Pushing crazed people out of his way.

The people would not be too happy at Alex's actions. Yet they were too afraid and confused to react to Alex.

Instead Alex was able to get to the magnificent shard of glass with no one standing in his way.

He was now able to fully act out his plans. With him having everything he needed, except for one simple thing.

Alex needed to get to the front of the plane first. So that's what he did as he started walking towards the plane, this time avoiding the crazed people.

Jesus, it's crazy what people do when they don't know what's happening to them.

Alex criticized the people as he walked by them. Getting closer and closer to the front with each aisle he passed.

Then his left palm tightened into a fist as he grimaced. Alex had reached the front of the plane, and now had to complete his plans.

"Everybody listen up, we need to discuss what's happening, so get to the front of the plane."

Everybody ignored Alex, continuing their frantics. Alex had expected this, yet he still hoped they'd listen to him the first time.

These people really are the same, well I guess I was mad for a bit too.

Alex would now have to threaten the survivors of the crash.

"If you guys don't get up here I'll slit your throats with this blade."

Alex put up the long blade of glass swinging it around. While a dark grimace was plastered on his face.

This time people listened to him, now threatened they had no choice. As people then started heading to the front of the plane.

Finally everyone had gathered in the front of the plane. All sitting in seats and giving their attention to Alex.

Although they were all quiet, their fear was eminent in their faces. With most of them crying, or having deathly pale expressions.

"We are on an unknown island, we don't know how we got here, and we don't know what to do. Yet we must stay calm, if not we had no chances of figuring anything out. So please if you know anything, speak up, or if you have any questions, ask them."

The people understood what Alex was saying, as some of them even clamped down. Now Alex just had to wait to see if anyone knew anything.

Then a person stood up, standing above the others.

"I have a question were the h*ll are we?!"

Then another person stood up, and another, then more and more people stood up with questions of their own.

"I have a question, what was that screen in front of me?"

"How did we land here, we were above the Atlantic Ocean??"

"How did the plane crash, and what was that pressure thingy mid way through???"

As the man mentioned the pressure often wave he shuttered at the thought. Afraid of what had happened to them.

"I think I might have some answers to the questions."

Alex quickly said something to cut off the rest of the questions before it got chaotic again. Yet he really did think he had answers to the questions.

Then he realized something. Although he did have some answers that could be right, he was embarrassed about one of them.

Alex grew up reading fantasy books. From dragons to wizards. Alex eventually turned to WebNovel, where he found many extremely long fantasy books.

Most of the fantasy books he read usually had a system in them. He theorized that the illusory screen he had just sawn was a system.

Except he was embarrassed to tell the others about the screen. Yet he had to, so Alex quickly found the courage to tell the passengers.

"First I think we are on an unknown continent from what that screen told us. Second, this screen is probably what is going to guide us or something like that. Third, I do not know how we landed here. Fourth we were flying below a storm cloud, so it's most likely the plane got struck."

The group of survivors all listened to Alex, although they found most of it unbelievably, nothing so far had been believable.

Then the people broke into whispers, as they started to whisper to the people around them. Until finally people started to get up and leave.

This was like a tiny crack forming in a dam, it was only going to get bigger now. As the first people who left the meeting caused others to leave.

Then more and more people left, until no one was left in the front of the plane. Although Alex was disappointed he didn't learn anything from the others, he did complete one of his goals.

He was successful in calming down the ramped group of survivors. While he had also learned things from himself.

As he realized where they could be, and why they could be there. This was pretty useful information, he now knew that they'd most likely had lived to survive the continent.

A group of people were surrounded by a window. They all looked outside it with horrified expressions on their faces.

Another even fell to the ground and let out a faint scream. This intrigued Alex as he then went to take a look outside.

Through the thick panels of glass he saw something utterly terrifying. He saw animals of all kinds, bugs, bears, birds, and much more.

Except all of these animals had lumps growing beneath their skin, and some even had bones protruding from them.

Yet this wasn't it, the animals were also massive, being way bigger than should be possible. While they were caught in a bloody fight, killing each other with pure malice.

What the f**k is going, and why are these animals so big!?!?

Alex had many questions, but he also had a deep fear lingering in his heart. As it now confirmed they were most likely on a new continent.

Except Alex's main worry was not the mysteries that entangled the new continent, but instead how they'd survive it.

The survivors had all flown through a plane, so they did not bring any weapons. So they had no way of defeating the horrifying abominations outside.

Alex brainstormed as many simulations as he could, all going differently. Yet every path leads to everyone's death.

Alex was about to lay down and give up. When suddenly an illusory screen flickered back into existence.

The screen of the system was back!
