Zane Shelby calmly made a call. "Box in that car. I want them alive. The license plate is... actually, it's probably fake. Move fast."
At the same time, the driver had already skillfully shaken off the pursuing car.
Zane instructed his driver, "Head to the office."
He then made another call. "Hawthorne, you said you wanted to see Faye Vaughn, right? Get over to my office. You can also see for yourself who wants her dead."
He had no doubt they would catch the pursuer.
Trying to pull these kinds of stunts on him in Stellaport? They were seriously underestimating him.
On the other end of the line, Wyatt Hawthorne paused. "Are you saying someone's after Faye Vaughn?" he asked, his voice heavy.
Zane sneered viciously. "For all we know, it's one of your messy flings. They got jealous and decided to take it out on Faye Vaughn."
Wyatt Hawthorne didn't rise to the bait. "I'll be at your office in twenty minutes," he said crisply.
