Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 X-men

After the peaceful walk in the garden, Jean led Axel and Olivia deeper into the mansion.

The house was full of life. It was much different from their quiet, giant mansion at home.

"Hey everyone! Come meet the new friends!"

Jean called out.

A young girl with brown hair suddenly walked right through a solid wall.

This was Kitty Pryde. She looked at Axel and Olivia with wide eyes.

"Whoa, a handsome boy and a beautiful girl. Are you a celebrity?"

"Nope, but I can be if you want,"

Axel said with a wink.

Then, a blue, fuzzy tail appeared from thin air.

With a BAMF sound and a cloud of purple smoke, a blue-skinned boy appeared.

This was Kurt Wagner. He bowed politely.

"It is very nice to meet you. My name is Kurt."

"You can teleport? Cool trick!"

Axel said.

"I usually just fly through space, but smoke is a nice touch."

In the corner, a very large, blue, furry man looked up from a thick book.

This was Hank McCoy. He adjusted his glasses.

"Welcome. It is rare to see individuals who carry such a heavy aura of energy."

Finally, a man in a silver wheelchair rolled into the room.

He had a bald head and a very kind face. This was Professor Charles Xavier.

"Welcome, Axel. Welcome, Olivia,"

Charles said with a warm smile.

"I have been waiting for you."

Jean stood next to them.

"Professor, they are the ones I told you about. They can help me with noise."

Charles nodded.

"I know who they are, Jean. They are the great-grandchildren of my old friend, Stan Lee."

Charles looked at the siblings with respect.

In his mind, Charles thought Stan Lee was just a very old, very powerful Omega Level mutant who lived a long time.

He did not know the truth. He had no idea that their Great Grandpa Stan was actually The One Above All, the creator of the entire Multiverse.

"Your Great Grandpa asked me to keep an eye on you while your father and… 28 mothers…, is away,"

Charles explained. He sweated a little when he said 28 mothers.

"He wants you to learn how to live among others. He wants you to be happy."

Axel leaned against a table.

"Grandpa Stan is a busy guy. He's always watching everything."

Charles leaned forward. He looked serious but kind.

"Axel, Olivia, you both have powers that I have never seen before. Even Jean's telepathy cannot touch your mind. You are special. I want to invite you to join the X-Men. We can train you. We can help you use your fire and your void to protect the world."

The room went quiet. Scott, Kitty, and Kurt all looked hopeful.

Having them on their team would make them a lot stronger.

But Axel and Olivia looked at each other.

They didn't need to speak to know what the other was thinking.

"Thanks, Professor,"

Axel said, his wild smile softening a bit.

"The X-Men sound cool. Fighting bad guys and wearing suits seems fun. But we have to say no."

Charles looked surprised.

"May I ask why? This school is the safest place for people like you."

Olivia stepped forward.

"We are not just mutants, Professor. And we are not here just to hide. Our Great Grandpa Stan gave us a very big job."

"What kind of job?"

Ororo asked, walking back into the room.

"Grandpa Stan has a whole Multiverse to look after,"

Axel explained.

Multiverse things weren't a new topic of this world. There were quite a few heroes in this world who took care of Multiverse like they did.

"Sometimes, things go wrong in other timelines. Monsters break through. Realities start to crack. Our father and our twenty-eight mothers are busy fixing the big problems, but there are smaller ones everywhere."

Olivia nodded.

"While we go to school here to learn how to be 'human,' we also act as the guardians of this sector. If a cosmic threat comes, we have to stop it. We help our Great Grandpa keep the balance. We don't just protect one world. We protect many."

Charles sighed, but he understood.

He realized these children were far beyond his teaching.

They weren't just students; they were young watchers.

"I see,"

Charles said.

"Your duty is much larger than ours. You are helping the man who oversees everything."

"Exactly,"

Axel said.

"But hey, we can still be friends! If you guys ever get into a fight with a giant robot or a mean mutant, just give us a call. I've been dying to test my Fire on something that won't break too easily."

Olivia rolled her eyes at her brother.

"Ignore him. He just likes to blow things up. But it's true. We will stay at the school and be friends with Jean, but our mission comes first."

Jean smiled.

She was happy they were staying.

Even if they weren't X-Men, they were her friends.

And she knew that with Axel and Olivia around, the world—was a much safer place.

Logan walked over and slapped Axel on the back.

"A job protecting the Multiverse, huh? Sounds like a lot of work. You better stay sharp, kid."

"Always, Logan,"

Axel laughed.

"Always."

The sun began to set over the X-Mansion. Axel and Olivia stood on the balcony, looking out at the world.

They were young gods in a world of humans and mutants.

It was a strange life, but with Jean and their new friends, they knew it was going to be an amazing adventure.
